Woman shot on 440E in Raleigh in apparent road rage incident: http://abc11.com/woman-shot-on-440e-in-raleigh-in-apparent-road-rage-incident/2630296/

RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Raleigh Police are investigating after a woman was shot in an apparent road-rage incident on 440 East between Glenwood Avenue and Six Forks Rd on Friday night.

Police said a 22-year-old woman was shot at least once in the lower part of her body.

The victim was taken to WakeMed with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m.

Police think the incident happened when the woman accidentally cut off another driver, who became irate.

There was a car that came to an abrupt stop in the left lane of a busy 4 lane road. They wanted to make a left hand turn. There was a turn lane. They didn't seem to know what they were for. The horn was sounded and it was found out that mexican drivers know how to use local sign language.
People need to realize there are crazy people in the world. Just because you flipped off the last 20 people that suggested you not slam on your bakes in the left lane, doesn't mean the 21st will let you slide too.

This almost describes what happened to us yesterday. We were pulling the travel trailer in the left lane of a divided road with two lanes each direction. There was a double turning lane to turn left at the intersection we were approaching. Idiot pulls out of a parking lot into the left lane and STOPS while waiting to get into the turning lane. I had a six thousand pound vehicle with eight thousand pounds of trailer and this dumbass pulls out into my lane on a 55 mph road and STOPS. I hit the brakes and layed on the horn, not a beep, but held it. Thankfully dumbass moved out of the way before getting crushed.

Unless you were turning left in that upcoming intersection you shouldn't be towing in the left lane correct? I see a lot of people towing boats, trailers etc amd going 55'in the left lane. They need to move their rigs into the right lane. People generally don't seem to realize they need a different mindset and pace while towing. The crap I see on 64 between my place and Jordan Lake is sad.

I see a woman was shot, but why? Do they have any idea what may have caused the woman to get shot?
That's understandable, because they missed the ratio...4 times letting you know what happened, but only 3 to tell you why.

I do a lot of driving around. Folks in our area do pretty good, very little tailgating, hold the corners well, not bad with speed, wave you in...
It's easy to tell the tourists because they don't do any of that. ^^^

Doesn’t justify the shooting of course, but what does accidentally mean in the context of cutting someone off?
Unaware purpose of mirrors, head up A, buried in phone, or otherwise oblivious to fact that they are operating a motorvehicle in a place there are other motorvehicles. Drive in the Triad, suggest US52, you will see many cars, few of the drivers will see you.

I would assume accidental means that you didn’t look well enough before changing lanes or something of that nature. As opposed to deliberately cutting someone off.

It means: that’s what she told the po-po and the news outlet because she’s an angel, after all, since she got shot. Totally negates any wrong doing she might have done. :eye roll:

Not condoning the shooting, but let’s not all be so naive to believe she “accidenally” cut someone off.

That is truly unfortunate for the young woman. Yesterday I beeped my horn on two occasions on a miserable day for traffic. I'm really trying to break the beeping habit.
I had to break my finger-giving habit years ago, when the "recipient" followed me to a parking lot and I had to give him a glimpse of my gun!!! But he cut me off, so I'm calling it his fault....I was young and full of...something. Lol.

One thing I have learned in my travels across the country. Drivers in NC suck bad enough on their own to not have the need to point fingers at the yankees.
It's true about NC drivers sucking! When I moved here awhile ago the first things I noticed were 1) the people are so polite and friendly, and 2) they're even worse drivers than the ones in my home town!

I was getting ready to turn left in a fraction of a mile. It is hard to change lanes so I typically wait until I'm close to where I want to turn and can see clearly that I can change lanes. I was also capable of moving at the posted speed so as to not be an impediment.

I hear ya. There are times when you have no choice, but to be in the left lane while towing, but I think some states have specific laws about it. Plus the left lane is for passing and making left turns. Not necessarily for driving 55 for miles and miles.

Hey, where's @concepthomes1 ? :p

I think drivers EVERYWHERE suck. I have driven in almost every State. Think I am missing the Dakotas, Montana and Wyoming. They all suck. IMO it is just a part of our inward looking, all about me, me, me culture. People have no considerstion for other people. Anywhere.

Except on this site of course.

you can tell how old you are by how many people are pissed off behind you compared to how many people you're pissed off that in front of you

Try riding a motorcycle these days! I've ridden in all of the lower 48 and drivers are equally as bad everywhere. Having said that, I'd rather be on my bike in heavy traffic than in a car.

You've never been to Maryland... I think you have to demonstrate homicidal tendencies to get a drivers license up there.
Lol. I lived in capitol heights for a while. Anywhere close to DC is where you find the worse drivers. Atlanta traffic is bad but the drivers are somewhat capable compared to the DC area.
A drive down I66 in VA may sway your opinion sir.
