Worst AK ever...

I thought you could put them things together with rocks and lube them with mud?? Someone took that saying to heart when they built that poor gun.

This makes IO look like actual NASA engineers.

True story. My first AK was an IO from Atlantic. First mag, it jammed 3x. This was the MasterMold that came with it, that worked better with 32 rounds vs. 30.

Second mag, a co-worker handed me a combloc steel mag. Loaded it, made ready, one trigger squeeze. Bang bang. Uh.....

Called them, told them I was in Charlotte on Friday for work, and that I would bring it in. This made them very uncomfortable. They tried to get me to ship it from High Point. Nope. Drove to Monroe to some cockroach office park.

Dude comes out in a too-tight t-shirt and camo pants. Asks me what happened. I explain. He says "that's super easy to fix" and walks off with my $300 AK. He comes back 10 minutes later, and says "it can't be fixed, how about I give you a new one". I agree and leave with it.

Drove back and put it on CSC, pre-NAFTA. Sold in 2 days. Put the money towards a headspaced Egyptian kit, from some shop in TX called JBI Armory. The rest is history.

I had a IO once. Cycling the action felt like rubbing two cheese graters together.

I had a Century WASR-10 about late 03, early 04 time frame, was my first AK, bought it at the Parris Island exchange. Boy was I excited, and boy was that thing a POS.
If you were in a boat in the middle of a pond, you couldn't have hit water with that rifle.........
I traded it for ammo, after having left it at the bottom of my trucks tool box for 4 years.
I hear that WASR's have improved since then.........
