As if anyone has to ask for anyone here's opinion 🙂.

Here is a situation and would like to see what everyone thinks about it.

Bought an AR barrel and dimpling jig from a company. Recieved both within days of placing my order. Measure my gas block spacing set the jig up on this spacing and drill both dimples. Remove jig and clean everything up...install gas block and it is setting flush on the shoulder and will not line up with the dimpling. Call barrel manufacturer they said sorry send a few pictures with your explanation and address if we goofed a new one will be shipped right out.

During my pictures and set up etc it becomes very clear the jig is the problem...slid it onto another barrel and yep the jig is the issue.

I contact the company I bought the barrel and jig from they ask for pictures and explanation...I do so.

Sales department emailed back contact jig manufacturer...I call them send an email etc...end of the day they reply.

What would you want the end result to be? I have what I think is fair in my mind and what is being offered so far.

At this point the jig manufacturer has said they would send a new jig and a return label. When I asked about the barrel communication stopped. I asked the company I bought the items from and was told I modified the barrel so it's non-returnable and the jig issue is between me and the manufacturer.

That’s certainly falling short of fair. Try posting feedback on their public pages. Sadly enough, it seems that’s what it takes to make things happen and a lot of company’s respond quicker and positively with the public eye watching.

The place I bought the items from pays for ad space here....or did I have seen them on the banner before....the jig manufacturer doesn't have a very big footprint. I'm going to let them get me a good jig and then return to the barrel issue.

Here is the final result.
I bought the barrel and JIG from Joe Bob Outfitters.
KAW valley precision stated he has had issues in the past with a jig out of spec.

KAW valley did send me a new jig and it checks out.

Joe Bob and KAW valley both will not do anything about the barrel. I have asked both via email and phone (only Joe Bob's as KAW will not answer or return a call).

Force the issue. Offer them a video you will post online showing the problem and them not standing behind it.
Post on Yelp also. FB shorts etc.
It may or may not help but you will save someone else the pain.
State the facts.

I explained that it's custom service....the young lady on the phone said and this is 100% what she said..
"We did the math and the barrel should still work"...my reply was Nope your math is incorrect.

I also explained that I am going to leave an honest review and will tell everyone that will listen about this experience.

Make a Youtube about Joe Bob and their customer issues including yours. Send it to a supervisor and tell them thwy have 5 days to provide a tracking number or the video goes live.

The owner is the one I've been emailing so don't see that doing anygood

This sounds like a case of JoeBob & Kaw Valley needing to work together to solve the issue. JBO needs to offer KV a replacement barrel at their cost to make you whole.

I would absolutely post everywhere I can, including making a short & to the point video to warn others of this experience. IMO this issue is the fault of KV, not so much JBO.

I agree.....every time I ask Ian (owner of KAW) about the barrel he ignores it. I have given him my cell and left vm asking him to call me back....nothing.

Link your review.
BBB hasn't posted yet they give them time to reply before posting it.

Do you have pictures that you can post here so we can see the issue also?

I’ve seen different spacing between different manufactures before, and there isn’t “standard” either that I’m aware of. Some gas blocks only have one, some have 2, some have set screws and a place for a taper pin.

There are several different measurements between the set screws. The issue was the holes are out of alignment.

This is with the gas block all the way against the shoulder of the barrel.

Joe Bob Outfitters has blocked me on Instagram after I made a post and comment about how sorry the CS is.

Just added a little post of my own to their latest ig posting. :)

Maybe they should have made things right instead of just looking at $ signs. I kinda want to get an Instagram just to make a post about your review

No telling I never filled out anything with location data
If you are running a VPN your IP address could show up from anywhere that server is located.

Spoke with Faxon firearms today (barrel manufacturer). They said if I have ANY issues let them know and they will replace the barrel under warranty.....even if I redrill new dimples and something doesn't work out...look right...or if I drill to deep.
I called them to let them know what kind of cs I was receiving from a vendor that sells there products.

CS is sometimes best left to the manufacturer. Long story short. I dropped and broke my modular helmet. Totally my fault. Talked to the dealer and they said I could not buy parts to repair but.would have to send it.back for them to repair. Emailed manufacturer and explained situation. They said no problem. Identified parts needed and asked about a new face shield and cost of all. Even after taking blame for breaking it they said no charge. Not even for the new face shield. That is top notch customer service.

What helmet manufacturer if I may ask?

I decided since they aren't going to make it right I'll make it work! This is after the new jig showed up and I triple checked it. I redrilled the correct dimple location.
