So someone started dumping some construction trash on the property I hunt during the season. Then it was some boxes. Then beer bottles, soda bottles, and more boxes. I went over there today and noticed one of the last boxes looked like it had an Amazon emblem on it. Sure enough.

Numbnuts.

I would hand deliver that crap back to Mr. Bell.

Someone threw their crap out in my ditch, while I was behind them coming home. I tailed them back to their house, made a mental note, collected their garbage from the ditch added in a dead raccoon that was on the side of the road decaying for about a week and delivered it all back to him.

Merry Christmas Mr. Dumas

Keep in mind that box may have been stolen off his porch.

Too many coincidences. They were finishing the house when the construction stuff was dumped. They live beside my cousin and he said the guy is a jerk. They live within sight of it but that box didn’t miraculously blow over onto a pile of boxes.

My mom is technically responsible for the property and she is going to pay him a visit in the next day or too.

I’m not picking anything up. I told her to tell him to clean it up or he can explain things to the sheriffs dept.

Yes, ridiculous that any of YOU would have to clean this up. Sounds like Mr. Bell should be getting to work real soon.

I’d dump it all on his front porch with a nasty note to go along with it.

And if I found it back on my property I’d dump it again and set it on fire.

Heh! Better call Officer Obie!

Tell me you didn't think of Alice's Restaurant when you found that!

We didn't find one. Until we came to a side road, and off the side of the side road there was another fifteen foot cliff and at the bottom of the cliff there was another pile of garbage.

And we decided that one big pile is better than two little piles, and rather than bring that one up we decided to throw ours down.

That's what we did, and drove back to the church, had a thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat, went to sleep and didn't get up until the next morning, when we got a phone call from Officer Obie.

He said, "Kid, we found your name on an envelope at the bottom of a half a ton of garbage, and just wanted to know if you had any information about it."

Whatever you do, in the end it’ll come down to who pees on whose leg.

Put Couple of rats or squirrels in the box seal it back up like its new package and drop it back off on his porch and wait for them to take in side their house and open it and laugh when the screaming starts and them chasing them trying to catch them.

Or you could sign them up for all the off the wall crap you can with his address.

Time for a trail camera.

Every
single
one
that has ever been put on that property has been stolen. It's a wonder I have not lost a stand yet. And nowhere to really put it out in the open. And who needs cameras when the idiot leaves his address? lol

You need trail cams monitoring trail cams monitoring trail cams.

Then you need wireless transmission of the pics.

Try putting a couple up the trees, monitoring the trail cams down below.

Buy the $20 lockable steel box & install on the tree with 2.5" x 3/8" lag bolts.

I cannot tell a lie Officer Obie, I put that envelope under that halfa ton of garbage.

It's now a family tradition, we listen to that song every year while preping Thanksgiving meal.

You need to wire a claymore to the camera. You still lose the camera but the last picture of someone looking really, really surprised is probably worth it.

Call the solid waste department they have an investigator, give him all the information. They take their job very seriously because it's their only function.

It has been my experience with those asshats that they only have any authority over licensed haulers and facilities. Even though dumping illegally is....well, illegal, they won't do a damn thing if the person who did it doesn't have a waste hauling or disposal license.

And getting law enforcement involved is also a non starter. First, no one really cares about illegal dumping unless it's on their property, and no matter if you have the address on a box or not its circumstantial. How did that box get there? Did it fly out of a licensed truck hauling the waste legally? We all know the answer is the guy dumped it there but that's the stance he will take and you just wasted your and the officers time because he can't do anything about it.

The only 2 options you have are to either clean it up yourself every time it happens or get even. And get even in a way that can't be traced back to you.

Like I said, dump the crap back on his front porch.

In bigger counties I'm sure, but in smaller counties they write many citations to the normal citizen.

There is a big reason I'm letting my mom take care of this. She's worked for the local PD since about 1979, currently retired but still filling in when needed. And the County Sheriff used to be one of the detectives there and used to be our karate instructor. Small town politics. Plus the mayor, although she does not really like him, lives beside this guy and he used to be the Chief of police. Mom and step dad both know this jokers FIL. Gotta love a small town.

Well, the deputy came out this morning. Did the report, took the address for evidence. Caught the guy at home this afternoon. Gave him 24 hours to clean it up or he had 4 charges he was going to file on him. Trespassed him for good measure so he can't be caught on the property again or charges immediately get filed. Guy didn't deny any of it. Deputy is going to check back on the property in a couple days.

glad you got this handled.

when i volunteer for our Adopt-A-Highway litter pick up
i keep anything with an address on it to examine later.
sometimes, i am able to mail it back to them.
sometimes, i use this service:
https://www.ncdot.gov/doh/operations/dp_chief_eng/roadside/beautification/litterbug/salform.html

the worst one last year was 88 lottery tickets
scattered with CC receipts and bills with the
same CC# and same address on the bills.
added some extras and mailed.

none of the lottery tickets were winners.
