I’m not sure why but over the past week I’ve had a hankerin for a 410 double. I’ve had several cheaper Stoeger/Stevens 12’s/20’s. The 12’s beat the snot out of me. This little 410 just looks cool. The 26” barrels might be a tad long but I’m willing to give it a shot. Yes I know they are cheap guns. That said who has experience with them? Sub $500 at academy.

I’ve handled their OU’s in Academy. I’m no expert at all on shotguns, but the fit and finish looked very good for the money. The one I handled was very lightweight which I did not consider to be a feature for my intended purpose, so I’d check the specs against whatever else you are thinking about.

I’m very happy with the Yildiz 20ga O/U I have. Suits me perfectly for the occasional clays or bird hunt.

That’s what I should have looked at. I was looking at their 12’s a year ago and just figured they were too light for my beat up old eyes.

Finally made my way to academy in Apex today. Was able to handle both the O/U and SxS in 410. The O/U felt better shouldering but I had my sights on the SxS. The only one they had in stock had 4 or 5 marks and dents in the stock in one area. It had obviously been dropped or damaged in shipping. The manager was only willing to take 5% off. If it had really nice wood I would have been interested. For that price I’ll stop by the Greenville store later this week when I’m in the area for work and see what they have.

If anyone comes across one with really nice wood please let me know. I’d be willing to make the drive for a nice walnut pattern. 28 or 20 gauge even!

I have the 410 side by side, academy in winston salem had a couple and I picked the one with nicer wood. It is a fun little gun! I probably have 20 or so rounds thru it.

I have owned three Yildiz guns and they were all great. I really regret selling the 20ga auto I had... 26 inches I believe?
