You ever get introduced to music so odd but you are drawn to it?

This is a 10 year old song a Belgian friend introduced us to, and we keep coming back to listen to it. He’s into fairly hardcore euro electronic/ dance stuff

Such a bizarre video, group has a real mad max feel and this is one of their lighter songs/videos, the others are progressively weirder

called ‘I fink u freeky’ by a group called die antwoord.

Yes, in the 90s. At the store, we got a sample of an interesting band (duo) called Dead Can Dance.

South Africans singing in Afrikaans. My family cringes every time I pull it up.

They have a 12 country tour in 2024, but not in the US.

The new Dune movie had some of that throat singing in it. I thought it fit well with the Sardaukar training scene.
I loved the trash bag Sardukar from the David Lynch Dune, but the popinjay imperial cult thing is way closer to the books.

Also, Die Antwoord are great.

This group, Globus, sings in Latin. The sound is such that you'll feel like an action hero in a final battle for righteousness.

Yep watched chappie a few years ago when it came out but haven’t seen since. Will need to re watch now lol

District 9 is awesome

Thought I was going to have to get my wife to translate lol (she has a masters in ancient languages) but then I saw they’d helpfully done that on the bottom of the video

The OG Scandi folk weirdos all the way back in 1994.

Not a good movie, in my opinion
And I liked District 9 and the actor Sharlto Copley (sp?)

I've heard that a lot. I actually really liked the movie.
Not sure if you are aware, but Copley played the robot Chappie as well.

He was so great in District 9. And Elysium after that.

I really want to see a District 10 before I die.

I was aware, it's what drew me into the movie. Not the two rappers ha
I would LOVE for a sequel to D9, see what/if anything happens to him. See what happened next
Sad story, really.

I learned about them when I saw them in Chappie. Specifically I googled her. She's got a TIGHT little figure. I have a few of their songs in a play list, but I've got to be in the right frame of mind to make it all the way thru a song.
