I just watched The Magnificent Seven movie recorded by someone in the back of the movie theatre.

Awesome movie. Hateful eight was good too

Red, you gotta get an Amazon Firestick and use the Exodus app to watch stuff like that. My kid traded for one from someone at school and it has been real nice. I have watched some old movies I had even forgot about like "The Gumball Rally" from the 70's

That fire stick device absolutely is awesome. I've watched more movies in the past few months I've had that damn fire stick than the past ten years.

Probably obvious, but I am a western nut. I am not an electronic genius. Not even close. I have Direct TV, one of the better set ups. I have Netflix viewed via a BluRay DVD player hooked up to a front projection Epson 6320 1080, HD, 3D, tadda yadda. All linked with HDMI cabling.
My youngest boy showed me how I could run an HDMI to my hard drive from the projector and I can broadcast anything off the PC onto the screen. Man, I would love to show some old westerns on the 84" X 84" screen.
So, if I get the Firestick (looked - which one?) what more could I get? Hardly ever watch actual tv stuff. Movies, Fox News, and the AHC. Don't care for comedies, love stories. Three people have to get shot, little nudity, and very good looking women would fill the bill.

Red, no joke ... there are movies available thru Exodus via Kodi (you kinda jail break download Kodi on to the Fire Stick and we use the Exodus addon via that) to get movies back into the 40's up to current runs from the here as well as other countries. You also get the same for TV shows. After my kid traded for the first I had to get another one because he watches crappé stuff. With a HDMI slot on that projector you'd likely be set for years and years of spaghetti westerns, John Wayne, etc

I keep hearing about firesticks being jailbroken and getting a lot of movies and stuff - any of you on here do that stuff? Im not very good with technology and would probably botch it

I use this, as soon as it hits DVD it's on there and TV shows are usually on the day after. My computer has a HDMI hook up so I can run it to the TV and watch whatever I want.

Lots of videos on Youtube. Also, the FireTV box is better than the Fire stick.

Better processing than the stick. Had a friend check the local Best Buys online to buy one. None had the box in stock (he had to order it). All had the stick in stock. I wonder why they are sold out of the boxes?

Several ways to install Kodi shown in this link (this is just Kodi. No addons):
