I'm in need of a small pocket pistol. I have a shield I carry all the time but it's too large to carry in my pocket( blue jeans normally). Thinking about a Ruger LCP. Any other small pistols I should look at? $300 max atm. Looking for a center fired, no tiny revolvers. Thanks

DB9 but dont expect it to endure a high round count. They have made many running changes the newest may be trouble free, haven't kept up with it.

My wife's is very accurate, with the best trigger I've felt in a tiny gun.

I was just doing research on this earlier today. I'm gonna take a strong look at the Ruger LCP II. Improved trigger, sights, and a slide stop lever ta boot.

LCP

Not tried a LCP2 yet, if its an improvement on the LCP then I'd say go for it!

I agree with @Oneofsix and @trcubed . My daily pocket gun is the KelTec P32. Surprisingly comfortable and accurate, about $200 new and flater and lighter than anything out there by far. Plus 9rds of 32 in your pocket isn't too shabby.

If you can't manage a 9mm, it's the way to go...

I still carry a Keltec PF9 quite often in my front pants because its slim, flat, and just fits that carry style really well with my dress requirements from time to time.

I'm also pocket carrying my Ruger LCR in .357 easily. My wife has pretty much laid claim on my LCP.

You can modify one of those cheap Uncle Mike's pocket holsters to carry a spare mag and make it hide even better. Looks like a wallet, not a gun.

I liked my LCP until I shot the Sig 238; now the Sig is my favorite. Better accuracy due to the 1911 style/trigger.

No love for the 42?

+1 for the LCP. I'm not that big so it's about all I can actually pocket carry. My PM9 is far too bulky to comfortably carry that way.

The custom has better/real sights and a fugly but improved trigger, a stainless guide rod, and have been discontinued when the LCP2 came out. As someone said they're available still. I grabbed one on closeout and have it stashed away for when my regular LCP wears out.

The LCP2 is a better pistol all around... except that it's 10% larger. If you're really trying to pocket carry that extra mass and volume are noticeable, at least to me which is why I passed on it and got the custom.

Full disclosure, mine did rust which is why it's been refinished green, and the extractor broke after 300-400 rounds or so. After I replaced the extractor with a freebie from Ruger, it got really picky about ammo. Would cycle my carry ammo and a few others but it choked on a lot of other loads. Somewhere on the other forum there is a post with a chart of what worked at what didn't. I sent it back to Ruger and they did something and now its back to it's old self again. Perhaps I didn't install the extractor properly or screwed up the tension spring or who knows what.

Putting it side by side with the new custom you can see that the edges of the frame are just ever so slightly worn, and the grip texturing isn't quite as sharp as when new, but it's been used/shot a lot more than I think Ruger intended for this piece of equipment.

I've got one of the extended mags for it, but I don't really like it. The regular mag with the pinky extension fits my hand just right.

And it's lipstick on a pig brother awaiting it's day on the range:

My LCP Custom (red trigger) in a Uncle George rear pocket holster can go anywhere and in comfort - feels like a wallet. When my clothing permits, I OWB carry a LC9S. I love them both - very dependable!

I like the P238. That said, it's literally 50% heavier than others mentioned like LCP, Keltec P32, Kahr CW 380.

For a pocket pistol, I actually prefer a little heavier, longer trigger, to avoid putting rounds downrange in a high stress situation, before I intend to.

I used to use a wallet holster. The old P32s came in a blue wallet. A spare mag filled the space in front of the grip and it was invisible and easy to draw. Plus it looked like you were going for your wallet. Got tired of sitting on my gun though. I use a desanti nemesis now. Breaks up the shape. I keep a 10rd mag in my left pocket. I don't like gun/mag together rigs. Can't draw the mag with the gun in your hand and it balances the weight out a bit. 19rds and I don't think it weighs a pound total...

I am in the process of trying to determine my pocket carry pistol also. Simultaneously considering a purse carry for my wife.

Lots of good thoughts here already, but I will add another to the list:
Remington RM380

Beretta nano 9mm - one of the more overlooked pocket nines. Very satisfied with mine.
There's one of those in the BSTs...

I've thought about one a couple times, but haven't shot one.

I really like mine. It was the smallest nine I shot that I liked. I installed night sights and a couple of mag extensions and was good to go.

I've heard a few people say they have had ammo issues but mine has been fine with everything I've shot in it so far.

Some folks can't get use to the little differences it has like no slide stop or no manual safeties, but to me it's made exactly how a concealable semi automatic handgun should be made. Rounded edges and as little as possible protruding so there's nothing to snag when drawing and nothing to push or flip to make it go bang. Of course, I'm one that thinks we've over-engineered most things for safety's sake.

I have a G43 Talo Edition. It is one good shooter, but is not really what I consider my "pocket" gun, although I have a pocket holster for it.

G43 is an amazing little gun. Shoots like a 19.

I love my G42. It also shoots like a much bigger gun. Not as small is my previous Bodyguard, but FAR better pistol and actually fun to shoot.

I don't pocket carry tho. cause I can't wear skinny jeans to show off my considerable man assets.
