Midliferally, have you had the IW Harper? Got a couple bottles from my father still in the cardboard box. Is it any good?
I have however had the HM bib and found it to be very tasty. Hard to beat for the $$$! Enjoy!

Has anybody joined a whiskey club? Just looked at Flavir but have not idea about them. Cost is $300 per year.

Some friends and I joined Flaviar earlier this year. So far I have found it to be not worth it. I just ordered a bottle of Michters A1 and Belle Meade Cognac cask bourbon for a decent price with free shipping as a member. I didn't pay $300 though, I think I paid $240. I definitely wouldn't join for that much. Pass.

Not a bad Saturday haul.

Rock Hill Farms is a first for me.

@thrillhill I have been looking for the Rock Hill Farms for over 2 years. Can not find it anywhere.

Tonight I went to get some more Billeit and asked the clerk if they had anything in the back and he walked out holding a bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch (135.2 proof). That is too hot for me but last weekend when my son was here he said that is what him and his wife had to drink for their anniversary so it came home with me.

I have asked 4 different liquor stores here in Savannah about Uncle Nearest and none of them have heard of it. Is it worth finding?

I've "explored and expanded my horizons" a lot in the past year.

Out of all the bourbons and whiskeys and peaty scotches that I have tried and liked during that time, this one is in my top 5.
Other inhabitants of the top 5 include Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel and Weller 12 if that tells you anything.

Had 3 or 4 other forum members over for a "tasting" yesterday. They all agree.

Just went to the package shop and showed them a picture of the Uncle Nearest and he said that they could get that one but the better one it said check the supply. I think the one everyone is showing is around $62 and the one that is out of stock is about double that amount. Hopefully in the next week I will have 2 bottles.

thanks in advance

I am going on the hunt to stock up over the next two or three weeks. If you strike out let me know. We got options.

I have a friend that has all the expensive bourbons said that he started drinking vodka. I asked if it was Kettle, Goose or Tito's. He said that he used to drink all of them until he tried Platinum vodka. It is distilled 7 times and distilled at Sazerac in Frankfort, KY. He also said that is the distillery that does the Stagg collection. It was cheap. $9.99 for a small bottle. Also, it is a plastic bottle so it is safe to take on the boat.

The one we are drinking on was $60 retail. It is the only offering I have sampled thus far.

It is a little hot on its own but let it mellow a little with a large ice cube and it is really good

Same one I started buying a couple years ago when it came out. Good stuff at a good price.

We got a local distillery (Bogue Sound Distillery) that makes a fantastic vodka as well. Problem is since I started buying the Platinum it is tough to shell out the extra cash. Damn good though.

Bought this for the office manager the other day, he couldn’t find it at his local store. We took down about half of the bottle today. Very smooth, I liked it. The Platinum was better, though I don’t think they still sell it.

Brought some new friends home. I haven't had Bib & Tucker before, I gotta' say it's really good.

Got my phone call today from the package shop that I asked them to get me some Uncle Nearest and was told that they had 2 bottles behind the counter waiting on me. When I got there, the was a box of Eagle Rare next the Uncle Nearest so a bottle of that too came home with me.

I haven't tried Uncle Nearest, gonna' have to find that. Eagle Rare is tasty.

I'm not very often caught off guard here lately with respect to chasing bourbon.

One of our regular customers called last week when I was at the front counter. Said he was in Charleston and found a place that had Blanton's for $66. Asked if I wanted one at that price. I responded in the affirmative.

This past weekend was a real busy one. He had told me he would bring it by on Tuesday. To tell the truth, I had forgotten all about it until I saw him walk in today with a bag.

Gave him the money and opened the paper bag. Saw the Blanton's box and I smiled.
Got it out of the box and was preparing to take it out of the brown cloth bag. He then kind of apologetically tried to warn me that this one may be a little different than usual and if I didn't want it he would give me my money back. I asked what he meant and he said something about a sticker being on it and the store picking it out. I laughed and couldn't get the bag off fast enough!

A store pick Blanton's is a first for me. He just made my week!
