Fight hard.
My daughter is 6yo, and I'm looking to get her into shooting. My son is close behind, but only 4. I'd like to get something they can both learn on. The only rimfire I own is a Remington 582 (old bolt action) that I currently have scoped. I'd prefer to start them with something simple and iron sights. I'd love some recommendations from you guys if you have any. Obviously I'm aware of the industry standard semis (Ruger 10/22, Marlin 60) and some of the nicer bolt actions from CZ and such, but I'm not sure if this is a good option or not. I know a lot of people start kids off on break barrels and BA's.
I was leaning towards the CZ 452 Scout, but if I spend $500 on a youth rifle and they aren't into it yet I'd probable get butt hurt since I can't use it with the short LOP.
Considering the times we're in, I'm also not against getting some bare-bones AR in .22lr, but I just fear the manipulation of the weapon would be kind of sensory overload for a young one to learn on out the gate.
