A friend sent me this screenshot the other day. It was posted on one of their social media sites. I have bought several pairs of glasses from them over the years. So has my wife and other family members. Never again! I emailed them and told them to delete my account and some other things. They replied back “We didn’t realize the content of the picture before we posted it and quickly removed it”. I call horse poop. You can’t tell me they didn’t realize the content and didn’t see a picture of a burning police car. 😡😡😡

Oh and mods if this isn’t the right spot, feel free to move. I figured glasses would be a firearm accessory

Holy cow. Anybody know how to get any info on the model? I am 90% sure that is my ex.

According to them, customer’s send pics in and they pick some to post on their social media accounts

I’ll bet posting an image of a burning police car in China (Zenni’s home) would be punishable by death.

That dude in drag's a messed up shim.
Reach out to let them know they're an enemy of the peace.
For those of you on social media, or wish to email them https://help.zennioptical.com/hc/en-us and scroll down to 20201218_080824.jpg

Wordsmiths, share a well crafted letter we may use.

They gets praised in the US for it.😡 The times I’ve ordered my glasses, they come from California. Go figure

I call horse poop on this. Why do you think they are being dishonest instead of taking them at their word?

To be fair... I looked over the pic to see what was bothersome by it, and didn't notice.

Not until I read the problem did I see it.

But I'm not in marketing.

This won't keep me from buying from them. I'm going to assume it was an oversight, and not their corporate position.
Marketing’s job is attention to detail.
Zenni is supporting an agenda.

Zenni is supporting an agenda.
Zenni’s owner is a Chinese-born US citizen living in exile here. She can’t return to China because she’s been convicted of financial crimes there. As a “Californian“, she may very well have adopted a typical CA agenda.

I've ordered from Zenni a couple times. Wife and 2 of my kids only wear glasses when they are driving at night typically and rarely then. Where is another place to order cheap glasses? Any that do not have china ties?

Like @Pink_Vapor said, attention to detail is a must in marketing. There’s no way they missed that. A big company like them probably has more than one person that looks over the stuff.

If anything it was more of a marketing stunt to draw attention. And it worked.

I get mine from Payne Glasses I dont think China, I believe from Shanghai.

first: I also condemn that post for it's content. I agree with you on that.
I also accept that a competent marketing organization is responsible for the content of their material.
And they made a mistake, they owned it, they deleted it.
I cannot divine intent from the little bit of data we have.
But I don't see any sort of apology. I suppose it could have been a marketing stunt or maybe just an honest mistake/failure of oversight. I'll pay more attention to them because I'd like to remain a customer but will drop them if this speculation holds up.

If this actually bothers you (and I can't believe that it does)
Apparently you don’t have family members or friends that are in law enforcement. If you did, then it would bother you also.

I thought Shanghai was in Thailand. They didnt have geo-graphie in grade school which is about as far as I got.

Geez, all this hate over a marketing pic. Isn't there another thread about stupid marketing photos? I won't form an opinion until I hear the company come out with theirs. If the owner(s) is truly a Chinese expat/ refugee then she's not a friend of communist China.

Just sayin'...
