Bottle Down

The goose is dead! My kids are helping with the vodka. Next up is about 4 or 5 oz of Absolute. I am killing about 8 bottles of H2O today and a couple Biolytes. Only 96 degrees and feels like 107 with no wind.

Kind of sad. Had a bottle of this awhile back. Was sort of not impressed. Decided to try it again and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Cheers!

I bought this at the Jack Daniels Distillery in July 2008, only sold at the distillery, put it back for a semi-special occasion. Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2009. Bottle is still in the box it came in, I take the box out of the china cabinet, open the box and the bottle is empty..

When my wife's sister died in April 2009. we took in her teen-aged son, he literally had nowhere else to go. He came with issues, baggage, etc, one being a variety of substance abuse problems. He killed the bottle and for some reason put it back in the box, back in the cabinet. I never got a taste.

Nevertheless, good on you for trying to help the boy. I know that road.

I have a pastor friend who is convinced God is keeping all the great whiskey in Heaven and is saving it to have a dram with us. Here is to the two finger pour he gives you for trying to help your nephew. May all of us be there for that, including the nephew.

100%. It’s good to know that people still act like a human beings and care for his fellow man..

Our ongoing move to Timberlake is significantly different than our move to Raleigh. Today I was removing the castors from a commercial refrigerator (that my wife had to have) so I could get it thru the garage door and a neighbor stopped by and helped me move it.

Ive been slowly killin off all the bottles that only have a pour or two left and another one of the everyday sippers bit the dust tonight. Not to worry, though, it's replacement is already on the bar lol

Dropped another one tonight...that is the last of the unopened ones on my shelf. And, as usual, its replacement is already in place 🙂

How is this drink?

What cubrock said
Its not a 'gotta have it' favorite but it is a staple in my bar. I try to keep a couple bottles around because I enjoy it as an everyday sipper and its a good one to put out when I have guests.

So, Im finally through all my bourbon bottles that only had a few pours left in them. Now, I am at the point where I have to crack open a new every day sipper bottle if I want a pour.

So, the question is which bourbon should I open first?
Choices are: Angels Envy, Elija Craig Small Batch 94 proof, Russels Reserve 10yo, Old Forester 1910, Michters US 1, Redwood Empire, or Heaven Hill 7yo Bottled in Bond.
Which one should I open for my Sunday night pour tonight?

If you ever passed by one of these bottles, kick yourself in the ass it you did not buy it. It might be one of the best buys of bourbon that I have found. Limited number bottles that survived the Rick house collapsed. They are almost gone forever. And it was only a $40 bottle.
