A co-worker has been waiting several months for his M1. They are now saying August (maybe).
They can keep their Boyd’s stocks, and their CMP imprint. Best to visit the store and pick one yourself.
I thought there was several stipulations. Who wants to buy an IH M1 Garand with a interested buyer? Not a straw purchase tho......no sireee. 🤣
It is really easy. Join the Garand Collector's Association online for $25 to meet the club membership requirement. You can use your CCP or DD214 as your proof of marksmanship activity. Then just fill out the sales forms, get one of them notarized at your bank and mail the packet in and wait for FedEx (the real FedEx, not that horrible FedEx Ground) to show up at your door. Order yourself a 1911 while you are at it!

No problem to qualify to purchase, here is the info. If you join the Grand Collectors Accocation they upload the membership list to CMP.

About five years ago, I sent my forms in and expected a long wait, just like a Form1. Got a FedEx email, thought it was a fake. Two days later wife calls and says some long heavy box from FedEx and she had to sign for it. 🤗. Three weeks is all it took, used credit card instead of a check.
Good luck nowadays. They are having issues from their growth, and trouble hiring qualified folks to run their systems. Complaints of 6-month wait times are all over their forum, and even in the email they just sent out.

My son drove down to Alabama and picked his 2 Garands and a 1903 Springfield from the inventory. Both Garands were mid 1940's Winchester receivers. The 1903 from 1918

Well I was going to ask if M1 Carbines were long gone, but perusing the site shows that no, not quite.
There is one service grade up for auction, 7 days left.....
at over $2k with 38 bidders.

The auction guns are always a little special guns not your normal.
The current market is still in the 900 to 1400 for the average gun.

Yeah I have been bracing myself for that range as I have gotten the itch for a plain ole shooter, but dang two grand for a service grade? That's demoralizing.
Don't get hung up on the grade.
It is really nothing if you have a special SN or gun.
Of 100 percent matching not rebuilt.

Well that's what I mean, if service grade is bottom of the barrel....I just want one that goes bang. With some cash left to fire a mag thru it. It ain't looking good. I haven't run across one for less than 1500 in a looonnng time.
I sold 4 shooters about 6 months back.
All were in the 800 to 1000 range.
Rack is the lower CMP grade.
Service is a good bit better.

Good to hear, had me a bit worried. Yeah they're always around when I don't want one.... I just checked the ads on here and in addition to yours it looks like I missed a few other decent priced ones in Nov, before I got the bug. Dadburnit.
