My wife got a 60/40 kitchen sink with a low divider. The stone store is asking if we want the faucet centered 50/50 or on the rib of the sink.

Here's a picture of the cabinets. The sink one is the bigger one with the black wires above it.

My thinking is centered would be better because visually the focus is going to be on the cabinets rather than the rib of the sink and an offset mount would look 'off'.

What say you?

Oops, damn insert took a while and I thought it wasn't working

We went with the divider
I’m thinking that if your setup is like my mother’s, e.g. an island not bound by cabinets with a sink in it, aligned with the divider makes sense. In our case, I think the cabinets and low profile divider make the cabinets the main visual draw, hence what it needs to be balanced against.

Obviously, neither is “right” or “wrong”, but subject to secondary criteria, 🤔

Looks like an island sink? That's a little different aesthetic in my experience.

Just like a 60/40 sink on a "wet bar". They are typically offset to match the split and it's popular and pleasing.

Of course I'm just the guy who builds stuff and my opinion and experience on "how it looks/functions" and what customers end up preferring has never mattered. Just ask my wife🤔🤣

Which ever way you pick and install she will decide she wants the other after its installed so that you can hear about it for the next 30 years

The sink is against a closed wall. There used to be a window there, but we enclosed the car port outside of it and filled in the wall. if it were an island I think the focal point would be the sink rib divider. I’m thinking it will be more the cabinets on the side of the sink.

Don’t feel bad, many of us had that problem the first time, we just don’t talk about it.

Oh, and I think on the divider.

Nice to see the Insinkerator flange was centered in the sink.
