Henry releasing 9mm Homesteader 9mm semi-auto rifle.

Camp 45s are scarce , guy next door has a camp 9 that I have my eye on.
Since you own both how does the Camp 9 compare the the Ruger PC9 in terms of accuracy
Both very accurate. Form factor is the difference, night an' day.

Henry will sell the snot out of this camp 9 clone. Uses Glock mags and 9mm a lot of folks will buy it despite being rather lame and not too original. But in 2023 if a company is slapping nice would furniture on their guns they are alright in my book.

I’d like to see Henry offer their normal models with threaded barrels. The black furniture tactical ones look so stupid, but I want the barrel threads. My subsonic 180 grain 357 mag loads would likely be sick suppressed from a lever gun. My old school no side gate henry 357 mag isnt threaded and not thinking it’s possible to get done.

I just saw this on a subreddit and got pretty excited, as I've had the Ruger PC Carbine on my list of "buy if you see a good deal". At $950+ I'll just have to watch YouTube videos and hope in 10 years someone gets rid of one cheap. I bet it's blast to shoot and looks awesome

Plenty of quality gunsmiths can bump the sight back and thread the end of the barrel

The back of receiver is giving me a bit of a Browning vibe too, humpback and all.

My PC9 is with a Security9.
All I need now is a Camp 45 to go with a 1911.
My combo has been either a Glock 17 or 26 (travel gun with G 17 mags) and Kel-Tec Sub-2000. I love Henrys so may have to add one to the collection!

They've been taking orders for more than a week at $711

Street was expected to be in the mid $700s for the Sig version, Glock a bit more.
Official release, according to Henry, is next Monday 2/6.

It's out. $959.99 right now, I have hope it might drop to sub 8 after the newness wears off so I can justify buying one.
6.6#'s.. Not too awful bad. Still chunkier than the Rossi 45C lever and a skosh longer.
I'll be curious to see if this one gets much aftermarket support. i.e. lighter stock sets.
Nice lookin lil rig, tho'.. 🤠

Some more showing up just barely sub-$800.

I've yet to see a good picture of what the various mag adapters look like, but this thing might be a candidate for some aftermarket support.
If it can switch mags so easily, it might be interesting to see what a 3d printer could produce for it. Scorpion mags? Colt mags?

I'm sure some well meaning company will also end up making a full length m-lok handguard and completely miss the point.

Only need to remove three pins per the video and takes less than a min to swap magwells. Various models come with adaptors to allow Glock, Sig, Smith

Yeah, I'm curious what the part that actually fits in the receiver looks like and how it jives with the BHO, feed ramp, and extractor. It seems really simple and would probably be easy to print.

Yeah it looks good and handy. :) I'd have preferred it be radial delayed or have a gas system to be super smooth shooting, but direct blowback is a very reliable system. Looks like a nice option for folks who want blued steel and walnut aesthetics, but want modern features and magazine compatibility.

I’m a fan of the Henry rifles I’ve owned but to echo what a few others have said I’m not sure what it really offers over the Ruger PCC. Maybe a small edge in fit and finish? But Ruger isn’t a slouch in those areas and my PCC is definitely good enough for a truck/backpack gun. Now, if this (or the Ruger) comes out in 10mm….

A detailed comparison between the Homesteader and the PC carbine would be interesting to see. I wanted to love the Ruger when it came out but it was so…so…Ruger-A little chunky, a little “just gud enuff” quality. My friend bought one but ended up selling it as it was just “meh”.
I have high hopes for the Henry but haven’t seen one locally yet (which is probably best for my wallet).

I like my PCC, especially with the MagPul Backpacker. For carrying around I’d rather that. Pairs with the SR9C which has a great trigger. Nice looking gun though, I can see it’s draw.

Seems to be threaded 1\2x28, adapters for a couple different magazines, including Glock. Ambi charging handle, peep sights, tapped for a rail on top of the receiver.
I swear it looks like the old Crossman 177 I had as a kid. One thing is Henry makes a quality weapon 👍

If I shoot something with a rifle I want it/them to look like they were shot with a rifle, not a pistol. Not sure why I’d own one even if it is a decent looking piece. Now a 357 mag or 44 mag might change my mind.
But but but, Brandon says the 9m blows lungs out.
I agree a 357 mag or 44 mag would be great.

looks like some people REALLY want these…over $500 above MSRP
This sort of thing is peculiar to me.

The company is actively making these items, at scale; it's not like rare cars or whatever.

It is the same with the new Colt King Cobra 22lr revolver. Nutty markups.

I guess paying half again as much over MSRP is worth it to some people to have an early example?

Of course, people do this with other things, too. Sneakers, cell phones, video games...
Just don't understand this part of human nature.

Awesome tandem!

Mine's a Camp 9 and a 59, with lotsa mags, including some 20 rounders.
I like same magazine combos too, so far I have a Beretta CX-4 and PX-4 in .40, and if rimfire counts a KT CMR-30 and PMR-30 in 22 mag. Now I need a LEO trade in G22 to go with my 40 cal Sub2K.

I'm liking the blued steel and wood on this as well. Yesterday I was in Area52 Gun & Pawn in Burlington and they had a sweet looking Mares Leg in 45 Colt on the wall. Not sure if it was a Henry but I think so. Man I wanted to take that thing home.

Until I read the price tag.

Even if it was cheaper I like to wait and see how many bugs needs to get fixed for the gen ii before I lay my money down.
