Look at what I found at my FFL earlier today, and for a damn good price.

Shot 100 rounds through it today. I’m an owner of Henry .357 and 30-30, and this is by far my favorite shooting lever. Ruger did not disappoint. I am very pleased thus far!

Edit: the 100 rounds were a good mix:

25 each of HSM Cowboy (my favorites 😍) .38/.357.

25 each of Federal .38/.357.

Feed all four different rounds beautifully….my Henry would have jammed 😅

FG&G has one on GB for a comparatively nice price. Cheapest I've seen them.

If I can find a JM pre-safety 357, I'll skip the mortgage payment that month
I paid below MSRP for this one 😉 the safety didn’t bother me. I don’t mind it, but I can see why it’d be an eye sore for a lot of people.

Not saying I wouldn't take one for the right price of it came along.

How's the fit/finish of the Ruglin? I haven't actually put hands on one yet.

Accuracy?

Fit and finish is just fine. Feels great. Nice and light, a good balance.

Accuracy? The most accurate lever I’ve ever shot. Bullseye every time. Love the sights on this.

Can I ask which FFL you bought it from and if they had another one!?

I've handled the one local to me, but their price is $1249 and tax, so it's not the one for me. LOL. Do like it and I think I like the feel of it a little bit better than the Henry, but I could be happy with either. Actually, handled a new Winchester with a tang safety in 357 yesterday. Price was $1199 I think. For some reason, I preferred the feel of the Marlin or Henry. Can't put my finger on why. May have something to do with LOP of the stock or the sights.

Does it hold 10 357Mag rounds in the magazine? I had an old JM that would only hold 9 in the magazine making it inconvenient for SASS shooting. I gave it to a close friend. It is quite a nice shooter. The safety does not bother me on the other 1894s I have. I simply put an O-ring over the safety when it is in the fire position. The safety stays off and is not as obvious. I have a Japanese Winchester M92 in 357. It shoots fine, but I like the Marlins better. That M92 came with two magazine followers installed making it difficult to load 10 rounds. Some dude in Japan must have either been asleep or mean. I discovered it when I had to empty the magazine from the front to clear a jam during a match. I put only one back in and have no more problems loading 10 in the magazine. The jam was caused by reloads with an OAL the rifle did not like. It was an easy fix, and the rifle runs beautifully with the right ammo. I may very well pick up a new Marlin in 357 if I ever run across one.

OP, congratulations; she sure is a beaut.

I can’t find one anywhere that doesn’t charge sales tax but, KYGCo ships free, fwiw (that would cover my FFL transfer …) $1,099:
