I appreciate the insight. Sounds like my bonus check is spent lol.I bought a 308 Roughtech in 308 a couple of months ago. Not a lot of rounds down the tube, but with Hornady Black 168 AMax it’s a sub MOA shooter. Same with my 168 SMK hand loads. I went 4-5 at on a 12” plate at 710 yds yesterday while I was working up loads for another rifle. The only upgrade I’ve made is putting the vertical grip on it. They are extremely good rifles for the money.
Yes I’ve wanted one for a long time7 mag???
The stock is the only thing I don’t like about the look. But I’m willing to compromise for the fluted stainless barrel with the muzzle break.I actually ordered one but didn’t take delivery of it. Picked it up and it just didn’t connect with me. The stock was super fugly. Sent it back and bought a Sako.
The action is spectacular too.The stock is the only thing I don’t like about the look. But I’m willing to compromise for the fluted stainless barrel with the muzzle break.
Does your Sako have the spider webs on it? What model do you have? The action is spectacular too.
But I just couldn’t get past that stock. I thought it was going to be more a dark grey w red spider webs but it was black with orange paint splattered on it by a kindergartener. Felt like one of those cheap off brand foam footballs.
15 years ago I would have agreed. Now, I believe the Tikkas are a much better rifle. If you wanted a 308 I’d tell you to get a Remington 5R Stainless for the money you’ll spend on a roughtech.
But I’m biased
The stocks are the only thing is dislike about the Tikkas. They are fugly and feel cheap, but the work.I actually ordered one but didn’t take delivery of it. Picked it up and it just didn’t connect with me. The stock was super fugly. Sent it back and bought a Sako.
