Rescued 120 yr. old Ladies (lever guns)

Where is that?

The 32 rimfire firing pin can be converted to centerfire pretty easily...
North of here, where they don't like guns and the salt air is bad for old bones and old steel.

How can it be converted and what .32 would work in it once it's converted?

Thanks.

When you look at the firing pin, it has an extension that is not in the middle, for rimfire. You just weld another bit in the middle. Then, you ream the chamber to 32 S&W Long. It's a simple job for a good gunsmith.

Oh OK. I see that would make it more functional, but wouldn't that kill the collector value of the gun?

I choot my rifles, an' I cannot reload rimfire. My 1890s 94 32 project will become a 32 S&W Long, and years ago my Cowboy 32 was converted to 327.

It's a matter of preference, and how much you paid for the "collector value" in a rifle. But I also have one in original condition chambered for S&W 32 (short). I like 32s a lot.

OK, I understand. Thanks for the info.

I have firearms for shooting, and firearms for collecting. Over the decades I've become much more of a collector. Changing an all-original, 120 yr old gun isn't an option for me. But I would LOVE to pick-up a new .327 Henry for the range. I love that caliber.

Edit: I know these aren't 'high-end' collectible rifles, maybe $1K each or less? But I still don't want to modify them in any way.

It also has a well done inlay on one side. Since it was won in card game, I call this'n the King of Diamonds.

When I find an appropriate tang peep sight, I'll replace those incorrect tang sight screws. Someone robbed a vintage tang peep sight off'n this'n...

Project: Marlin Model 92 in 32 rimfire... all parts are there, and it all functions but needs derusting. Original mag tube (not shown in pics) works well. New fore end needs some carving to fit the NOS half octagon barrel. Converted the firing pin to centerfire, and as soon as I derust and make all parts new again, I'll get a local gunsmith to chamber it for 32 S&W and headspace it.
