Wake, Durham, Cumberland sheriffs among 6 to endorse Joe Biden for president

These same guys all do everything they can to avoid or delay issuing CCW permits.
Maybe we need to do what started like MA did. Redhce the Sheriff departments jurisdiction to just control over county jails. No LE duty.

So who responds to calls in the county?

State police do. They did when my son had a fender bender on a county road just beyond town limits.

I’d much prefer the county have jurisdiction over such matters.

They have no political clout. Who cares. Nobody gives a turd who endorses who even the elite money bag people. Money is all that matters from their contributions to candidates.

Folks, I mean No disrespect. I have an honest question that bothers me even to ask.
Is N.C., because of 6 or 7 populated areas, in danger of being lost to the cause. Is it this time around that they go Left...Again? After all they have experienced with the previous administration are they ready to go that way again?
I understand the way it happens I just wonder, has N.C. put themselves in the position to go down That road again?

You know where to come. Gorgeous house at the end of my street with 2 huge garages for your Harley.
The truth is, I did well to get Mrs Fieldgrade out of the Containment Area proper, being that’s her hometown. I’d be your neighbor in a heartbeat.

How much would you charge to mow 2 acres?

edit: old eyeballs. Two garages, not two acres, lol.

Billy, since no one else wants to say it I will. I have had that fear for some time and I feel it worse now than ever. Yes, the majority of the state signed on to the 2A sanctuary thing but, naturally, not the major population areas. The problem is there are so many people coming from other states which don't have the Southern leanings and many are moving into the rural areas. All of the good folks in the counties surrounding the major cities are being swamped by the urban sprawl and are losing ground. I passed through Johnston Co. last weekend on a 2 lane road and counted 20 subdivisions, with nearly half of them still under construction or in the beginning processes in less than 20 miles coming to the Wake co. line. Less than 50 years ago, Johnston Co. was one of the top moonshine counties in the state with the big dogs know state wide.

It may not happen this time around but I can see NC going the way of VA, where 8 or 10 counties tell the other 90 what they have to do. I just hope I"m not around when that happens.

I can see this happening. My pipe dream of moving from Wake to Johnston or Harnett will probably accomplish little in the long run.

Billy, I don’t know - this election will tell the tale. The state and big city governments have successfully recruited the kind of business that brings trendy Millennial types, and the county commissioners and school boards have completely gone over the progressive cliff. It is very discouraging. If every single one of us doesn’t get out and vote straight ticket - and persuade others to do so - it may be too late for us. People need to understand, the down ballot races may be even more important than the top of the ticket. I don’t care if some of the candidates aren’t perfect, we simply can’t allow more Democrats to be elected; we can work on better candidates later - but there won’t be a chance later if Dems predominate. This election will tell us if there are enough right-thinking citizens left to save the state. I am worried.

you buy the nice fuel injected toro and I will do it for free lol.

I am barely 30 mins to Cary. Arguably closer than you are now time wise just not mileage.

I am concerned that this is the case.

Moose was no better and unabashedly pro-Dem. And the county kept re-electing him until he retired.

Agree 100%. He should have been out of office years ago on health issues alone. Now we wind up with his hand picked minion, who is just as bad if not worse on 2a issues. Many of us tried to vote in others, came close last time but no dice.

Far too many members of the FSA here to ever swing it back from the way we're headed.

I did my part for the 12 years I lived in Cumberland to try and vote them out, but you're correct- it's been going that way a long time.
In the end, I moved to Robeson [emoji1787].
