Wake, Durham, Cumberland sheriffs among 6 to endorse Joe Biden for president

Folks, I mean No disrespect. I have an honest question that bothers me even to ask.
Is N.C., because of 6 or 7 populated areas, in danger of being lost to the cause. Is it this time around that they go Left...Again? After all they have experienced with the previous administration are they ready to go that way again?
I understand the way it happens I just wonder, has N.C. put themselves in the position to go down That road again?
I’m more curious in seeing if Cooper gets re-elected than whether we turn red or blue in the Presidential election.

But yeah, I think we’re dangerously close. And Charlotte is leading the pack. If I’m not mistaken, our city council is 100% Dem. Most of the state reps around here are as well.

There’s so much hate at the way Cooper has held us back during this Covid crap that I can’t imagine him getting elected again...but I can’t say I’ll be surprised if he does by the never-Trumpers that moved here and outnumber the rest. Wife says we’re the last state to still have gyms closed, but I haven’t tried to fact-check her on that. :D

Really hoping the silent majority still exists.

Is a shame. I knew Wright when he was on patrol in a small town...was a great guy....WAS. The climb up the ladder, as happens with most every one of them, changes them.

At one point we were one of four -- the other three being MA, NY, NJ. Fine company to keep. Since then, I think there have been a couple of flip-flops (AZ for sure) but still ...

Show me a state that’s worth living in that doesn’t have the same problems. You guys talking about TN have obviously never been to Nashville or even heard of Memphis. Those two metro areas will soon make up a lion’s share of the people and will absolutely vote with the wind. Memphis is one of the worst ghettos in the country and Nashville is full of “country” music wannabes that are easily influenced by liberal ideas.

This is certainly a possibility. I have hope that while Obama won in 08, it was a very slim margin and then he lost in 12. There is a race of sorts with lots of population growth being younger hipster types, but they could surprise folks. I think there is more of a sleeper Trump vote than folks think, and many of themare Bernie, Yang or Warren supporters who hate Biden.

There is also growing disillusionment among the black community with the liberal clique... Here in Durham it's called the People's Alliance. They elect their black darlings, but not the people who really represent the voice of regular black folks.

Long term I think we need an Electoral College setup at the state level or I fear the cities will do exactly what has happened in VA. Of course that's about as likely as a snowstorm was last week.

The good news is our City Council is only one third democrat.

The bad news is it's two thirds communist.

They support Biden because he wants to De fund the Police along with Harris.
Using this as a segue, not picking on you. Threads like this get interesting when juxtaposed against others where some of you are just flowing with your adoration of the cops. You’re worried about invaders voting for a “blue” politician and your “rights” being infringed upon. Who do you think will be doing that infringing? Those cops will take their orders in exchange for their paycheck and try to infringe the hell out of you. What are you going to do about it, wring your hands, sing the Repug party anthem and vote harder?

Some things aren’t up for a vote. Some things aren’t subject to the opinion of 50.1% of the population. You’re already all but out of places to run to.

Absolutely. If the census turns out to be anywhere close to accurate, it will (based on the construction I see) show huge disproportionate population increases in the areas that attract progressives from other states.

The people in Durham that I see refuse to accept that issues with policing are not automatically racially driven. If you try to point this out to them, you risk getting canceled. People moving in either already share this view or rapidly accept this view based on assuming the locals know more about the politics than they do.

Yep

Since they endorse Biden, who endorses defund and disarm the police, these sheriffs should start by ordering all deputies to turn in their duty and personal firearms. See how the deputies respond.
I doubt many of the deputies side with the sheriffs. Maybe those who were bullied and see the badge and gun as a way to exact revenge are on that side.

The uncomfortable truth is that they have enough control over our large black population to earn their votes and plenty of unassimilated yankees and citiots to complete the transition.

My sights are set for the far West NC or TN, provided the transplants haven't screwed that part all up by the time I can afford it.

See Asheville and Boone. Hell, the invaders have all but taken West Jeff too. Buddy was out that way recently and said he was seeing houses out near friggin' Lake Toxaway and Cold Mtn with Biden signs and NJ tags in the driveway.

Yea, I know.. One can hope that some event at some point may push them out.

Remember a few weeks ago the Granville County "scare" with the, what was it, 1000' gun-free-zones throughout the county?

Metastasization ... the cancer grows and spreads.

wasn’t that Holly Springs?

wasn’t that Holly Springs?

I think this is a case of both/and.

The Granville County issue was back in late July and related to a petition to enact a firearms ordinance raised by a group of busy-body concerned citizens. :rolleyes:Some of us here wrote to the Granville County Commission.

It's not just the invaders Billy.
I remember clearly many members of this very forum proudly claiming no-way-in-hell were they gonna vote for McCrory.
He's a rino! He's a jerk! What a clown!
IIRC..and I do, one of their biggest reasons (according to them) was he charged them $4 to drive on a road that used to be free.
So they decided to pull a libertarian and not participate in the game citing a virtuous moral indignity, and now they complain about how the whole place has gone retard democrat.

Surprise!

Ma B’ball tourney and ma bathrooms! You called it. Short sighted. Looking for perfect and we got Cooper. And we may get him again.

Anybody that lives in any county anywhere in this country where the majority population is urban is subject to the rule of Dems.

To be sure Sheriff by appointment Noblin was not in favor of it?

^^^This^^^ Perfect is the enemy of good. We ain't ever gonna get a perfect candidate, so we have to vote for the most conservative candidate that can get elected. Would like to have a home run, but a base hit is better than an out!
