Im definitely in the minority here, but, ewwww. I do not find that pleasing at all.Buy some eagle rare and be happy.
Hmm. Now that you bring it up, I do remember buying a bottle, but really couldn't tell you if it was good or not.
So far, Makers Mark 46 is my fave, although I did have more 1792 than I needed last night.
Maker's 46 is some good stuff.Hmm. Now that you bring it up, I do remember buying a bottle, but really couldn't tell you if it was good or not.

And right there is your problem. It should never ever be about "need".
You must enjoy it, not need it.
There, I said it. Bought a bottle tonight and I am very unimpressed.

Not Horrible but definitely not worth the hype. I currently have a bottle. I prefer Bullet over Rare.Im definitely in the minority here, but, ewwww. I do not find that pleasing at all.
Listen tease. Don’t be making bold statements without giving me a list of cheap whiskey that tastes good. There’s a perception that cheap booze tastes bad, and that expensive booze tastes good. Both are sometimes false.
I became a connoisseur of cheap bottom shelf scotch in the depths of the Great Recession. I found some that were really cheap, and yet weren’t “bad” tasting. They had absolutely no character to speak of, but were perfect for the budget minded volume drinker.
Likewise, I have had a few expensive scotches that taste like a blend of diesel fuel and burning peat bog. No thanks.
It’s short, and it’s scotch, so it might not be worthwhile to you. I burned out on cheap bourbon before I was 22. Nothing to brag about. I just don’t like it anymore. And TN whiskey even less.Listen tease. Don’t be making bold statements without giving me a list of cheap whiskey that tastes good.
Seriously. I’d love a list. It will save me from some of the abominations out there.
Define 'cheap'Listen tease. Don’t be making bold statements without giving me a list of cheap whiskey that tastes good.

I’ll spend $40 on bottles regularly. $70-80 on a 1.75 ml bottle.Define 'cheap'
I shop a lot in SC and when I travel, so Im not sure all these fit the $20ish mark here in NC, but in free states they do.I’ll spend $40 on bottles regularly. $70-80 on a 1.75 ml bottle.
Cheap would be half that.
Yeah. I like all of those but more expensive here.I shop a lot in SC and when I travel, so Im not sure all these fit the $20ish mark here in NC, but in free states they do.
Very Old Barton
Four Roses Small Batch
Elijah Craig Small Batch
Evan Williams Bottled in Bond
Larceny (wheated, if that matters)
And the one that pisses me off the most...Russells Reserve. I buy it regularly for $28 when I travel. Its flippin 40 here grrrr 😡
Edit: Im on my second Elijah Craig after an EH Taylor as we speak lol
This is my problem with JD. Too much of it then. Hate it now. In all it's iterations.Meh. What do you expect from a high schooler's drink?
I hate NC ABCYeah. I like all of those but more expensive here.
Speaking of which. We need another lunch so I can get that leftover bottle of yours.
I go regularly to Johnson City, TN and can buy Buffalo Trace for $29 a bottle. I need to get back up there.Yeah. I like all of those but more expensive here.
Need to get back down to see @KnotRight in savanna and pick up another case of $28 a bottle Buffalo trace.
Speaking of which. We need another lunch so I can get that leftover bottle of yours.
Larceny is the cheapest out of your list up here. And I buy the hell out of it when I can find it.
I dunno. I drank a crap load of triple A in college. All I know is I’d be reduced to barfing and howling “HEEYAHH MULE!!!” at the top of my lungs. Chasing it with a quart of Coca Cola, and a six pack of Bud in the can may very well have contributed to that.try Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star.
Largo has BT Store pick for 23 or 24 dollarsYeah. I like all of those but more expensive here.

I’d hit it, sorry, I’ll take it.There, I said it. Bought a bottle tonight and I am very unimpressed.
That is kind tradition, I salute you. I would offer up a toast but my wife would be upset if I started that early.I’ve enjoyed a lot of Gentlemen Jack, as well as regular Jack Daniels and JD Single Barrel around a many a campfire with my Dad and my brother. And it tasted fine to me. I haven’t drank much of it lately as it’s just not the same without the Old Man. I’ll have a snort or 2 when I’m at the cabin. I’ll also take a glass up and pour it on his grave. I figure that him being up there alone with Mom for all this time, he needs a drink every now and then!
We had people send Soldiers booze in Listerine bottles in Afghanistan. They got away with it for awhile until the Military caught on.Just ran across this...
