please recommend a knapsack for a 10” AR pistol with brace.

Where did you pick that up?
After going to Walmart, Academy, and Bass Pro, I finally went to Dicks. Every run of the mill knapsack everywhere else was only 20” deep. Needed 26”.

I thought it fitting to appropriate a case from them for my evil black scary stuff.

Arrived today. I think I’m going to call and complain, and probably send it back.

Here’s the pic online:

Who wants a bunch of tacky writing on what’s supposed to be a discreet bag? 😡😡😡
I got the same color when they were on sale early last year, I think. I agree the red lettering is one dislike of mine but not enough to send it back, since I don’t have a better option for the price, nor others without the lettering.
I like the idea of a sharpie, that may subdue it just enough.

This decal will complete the look.
PRINCE Profile Face Purple Rain Musician Singer Songwriter ...
They had a neon pink one.
But no purple.

This is what you want. I can fit a 65lb liberty compound bow in this. Easily fits a pistol.View attachment 441508
You sure that’s the right bag you’re fitting a bow in? The tag says it’s 20x11x6”. Seems like the 23.5” diagonal would be a tight squeeze and most AR pistols are over that. A 7” barrel Q Sugar Weasel is 22.25” for reference.
That bag definitely checks the box for discreet though, and $31 is a nice bonus.

pickleball is EVERYwhere
I looked at a bunch of pickleball racket cases, too. It was a matter of finding one that had two compartments (mags/pistol) and had a subdued color scheme, and didn’t cost $80-$100. The nicer cases were all pricey. The one I got was only $30, and until I figure out what the carry routine is with this particular blaster I didn’t want to spend much.

Blackhawk used to sell this discrete bag. It's 28".
I used to keep a B&T APC in it, but I stupidly sold that gun off. Now I keep the bag around as an excuse to buy something that might fit in it.

Maybe that PSA MP5 will happen.

That bag is only 18".

I think I'm going to try the Ukulele bag. At $30 and with backpack straps and front pocket it's a good looking option, plus free returns if it doesn't work out. The Savior bag is really nice looking for the money, but I would like something a little more covert. At least to me it screams "nice gun in here." - altho the Ukulele bag just screams "nice Ukulele in here" - not sure what's worse.

Post a link when you do. My tennis racket bag works to go from truck to house, but the handle is sewn to fairly thin material with little reinforcement so the weight of the blaster and all the extra BB’s inside make me wonder how many trips it will survive. Using the arm sling is not optimal either due to the lack of internal straps to hold everything inside in place. We get what we pay for I guess.

This is the one I'm looking at: HOT SEAL 10MM Leather Handles Thick Durable Colorful Ukulele Case Bag with Storage (23/24in, Light blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J8DJG2...t_i_28FDX9VP032YEDY546QB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

My only question is how big that front pouch is. Curious if my 7.62x39 30rders will fit.

Is 23”-24” long enough for yours? I have to have 26”, and my experience with guitar cases is the instrument will use ALL the available space by design, to keep it seated snugly, so it wouldn’t work for mine.

Liberty 1 bow. Yes

Liberty 1 65lb. 266fps. I make some break down arrows and it all fits nicely in the bag. Bow is rather expensive at a grand though. Owner talked me intonthe 65lb and ahould have done the 75lb. Couldn't draw this one when I got it even at 55lbs but now I'm shooting 73lbs on larger 80lb er. But decked out the liverty is only 3lbs or less depending on the sight.20220115_051132.jpg

I have a nice Eberlestock. Built like a tank. probably more bag than most of us need, but it has some awesome features. If someone was a little slow witted like me they might try to stuff things in every nook and make the thing so damn heavy you can’t lift it.

A smaller version.

If you’re not looking to carry it around for any long period of time then you would be hard pressed to find a better bag for that purpose than this one. I have one and it is my go to rifle bag. I take it to the range, toss it in the truck for trips, and lately I’ve been throwing it in the back of my side by side for desert trips. The quality is on par with bags that cost over twice as much.

Whenever you get time…or anybody else that has one. The specs online say it’s 29.5” inside. This is the firearm I’m wanting to use:

Anything screwy about the design that wouldn’t allow this one to fit? (Measurement is with brace collapsed and silencer installed)

Ask and you shall receive 😜

It would be tight even with the barrel saddle thingy removed. For $80, get something that you wouldn’t regret.

I don’t think you’ll have any problem getting that to work. Just measured mine and it’s right at 29” inside.

Oh and I took that gun sock thing out, day one. Serves no purpose for me.

I just got one of these for $25: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C36Y5XM

Very un-tacticool but it seems like it will hold things on the journey from the house to the car to the range and back. It's a little too wide, but I'll probably wrap the pistol in an old towel in the bag which will take up some of the slack.

Six loaded mags will suck up some space. It does in mine anyway. Oh, wait. That shoots 9.
Then about twenty loaded mags. :p

Got mine in today, same writing. It is much brighter/more noticeable than your picture shows too! I sent an email to GGG asking why their website shows this pack without the lettering/branding and if they make one like they picture.

I liked this pack over the Eberlestocks because the Cherry Bomb seemed too small and the Secret Weapon seemed too big. May have to look into some of these fancy tennis bags y'all been showing off now. ;)

Yep. If it was black writing, I would’ve kept it. Some of the other color combos are (to me) uglier as far as the bag goes, but the words don’t stand out as much.

Disappointed, as I really wanted the black & red.

Looking back at older review videos and Dale Gribbles thread's, the Apparition bags had NO branding on it. Guess they wanted/needed the marketing.

Ok, fellas, Im curious....is your dislike simply because of how the writing looks or is it because the writing advertises it as an AR pistol/SBR bag?

Yes. 😁

I don’t like it standing out as much as it does. Especially with the brand name. I would I’ve been ok with the Apparition style being there.

It’s also kinda cheap looking. It’s not embroidered…it’s screen printed on there. And it’s super bright red.

If it had been this color combo, I might’ve kept it…

AF444D84-6670-4EFF-A57A-071451663F63.jpeg

Although the black/red might’ve been fixable with a sharpie. If I didn’t have the orange bag, I would’ve been more likely to have kept the black one and colored the lettering…or found somebody to embroider over it.

Pretty much what he said ^^. ;)

I am debating on keeping it and finding some way to cover up the GGG part. Just not sure it is worth the hassle.
I watched that Sage Dynamics review video and didn't realize it was so old. One of his main points though was how inconspicuous the bag was. "Transition seamlessly from the gun show to the dog show.", "Blend in with vegans", etc. etc. lol

I get it concerning the looks. Eye of the beholder and all that.
Concerning the losing discreetness part, I bet you could sit on a street corner in NODA or on Central near Zada Janes with that bag between your feet and less than five folks out of every hundred that pass you would know what gray ghost gear actually is. And thats if they even noticed the name on it at all.

I agree. I had no idea what it was. But the combo of ghost and gear just gets my spidey sense tingling. Probably a non-issue…but it’s already in route back to them. It was more me pitching a fit in the moment since I had an alternate plan.

I’m probably going to try one of the Savior Covert bags anyway, since it’s half the price to begin with. 😁

I really like the looks of that one other than wishing it came in more colors.
