Your first car

First one. ‘89 Chevy Beretta. They bought it when I was 14 and I drove it thoughout my permit year and then it was mine. Put 155K miles on it in about 6 years. 5-speed manual, 2.0 4-banger.

Then bought myself this one between Jr & Sr years of college.

1974: I was driving this babe-magnet - 1968 Rambler Rebel. Had one more tough 232 c.i. straight six. It took a licking and kept on ticking.
As I remember it:

As it REALLY was: Not mine, but close. Mine was brown. *sigh*

1979: I as working and moved up a tad in the world!

I don't have a picture of it...

1992 Buick Lesabre in white...

It belonged to my mom. When I turned 16 she got a new car and I got her old LeSabre. It was already worn out and felt like you were riding in a boat...

I didn't have sex in it, but several girls got naked in it!

Looked like this:

Mine was an '87 Ford ranger. Dad insisted I help build from 3 different trucks when I was 15. Drivetrain from one, frame from another and body from a third.

Body lines were more Bondo than metal. It for sure only had half of the oil pan bolts (but I only broke one ring on my first ever solo engine rebuild)🤣. No pics but I "sold" it to dad so he could trade it and got to buy his 98 f150 from him.

The old fella that bought the truck was a lifer at the paper mill. The engine never broke and the Bondo never fell off. Saw it daily. Guess I didn't screw it up too bad. I am on my 5th Ford ranger since. So I for sure have a soft spot for them.

87 honda accord. First 15 minutes of having my license, a girl ran a red light and nailed my passenger side totaling it. She lied about it and the cops saw i was a new driver so they believed her (despite me having a witness). Had to drive it for 2 years until i could upgrade.

The passenger side was so smashed up that if you tried to open the door, it would fall off the car. Still had sex in it though. 16 was an exciting age.

Like this. 91 Cressida. Unbelievably smooth and reliable car.

Damn, playa, I didn't know you was a pimp too. While it wasn't my first car, I had '90 with a sun roof. Some head gaskets were worn out, so it would boil out some white smoke like a damn Bond villain at a stop light.

My first car was a 626.

Also, there is a guy in Charlotte that apparently refurbishes 80s era Toyotas. I've seen his clean AF Tercel and Cressida out several times.

In 1995 bought a bright yellow 1984 Mustang GL....5.0 ,4 speed ,t tops with metric wheels. My uncle was a Tx State Trooper that drove an 84 interceptor. I asked him to clock me because the speedo stopped at 85 (2nd gear). He never told me how fast I was going at the end of 2 miles but did tell me if I even got a speeding ticket he would make sure I paid fully for it and that one.

My 2nd car was a 72 ElCamino...3rd was a 67 Chevelle...wish I still had them.

59 Chevy Apache stepside. Bought when I was 12 with grass mowing $$

Followed by a 72 Chevelle about a week later.

No surviving pics thanks to a vengeful ex. :(

I think it was an 88 Chevrolet Corsica. Was my grandmothers and my dad bought it from her when she became too infirm to drive. Drove it through high school and college. Loved that ol piece of poo.

I'm sorry to hear that... those things are ugly. Right there with the ford pinto. Your high school game must have been awful. At least I had the mud crickets going after me 😂

I got that the summer I started college. No problem getting laid, as I had a girlfriend who thought it was cute, especially when I made a hood ornament using Stripe, from Gremlins.

But I will say the local junk yard was a ready source of parts, especially those stupid exterior door handles! They sucked so bad I always carried a spare one for each door and I could replace one in under 5 minutes, I was so proficient!

1977 Plymouth Volare sedan. Cream colored body dark brown vinyl roof, the interior was caramel. It had a slant six under the hood, it was slow to get off the line but once it got up to speed it would haul ass. I hated that car when I got it, but I looked back on it now and I had so many good times in that car I miss it.

It was a huge boat it was like two full-size couches rolling down the road. Before it closed the drive-in theater in my town head six dollar a car Fridays we would put 17 people in that thing before the suspension bottomed out. Tie everybody’s lawn chairs to the Roof and in the trunk.

it’s not the exact car, but that’s the closest picture I could find to what mine looked like
