Dixie Gun and Knife Show- May 6-7th Raleigh

Website link to buy tickets takes me to a page that says "No Tickets Available". Do we think this is just a technical glitch?

Looks like a glitch. I just checked and they're available now, but it costs more to buy online than at the door. I didn't go all the way through the process, but in addition to the $9.00 ticket, it showed $1.63 for ticket fee and $0.65 for tax.

I went to the last show. It was disappointing to say the least in my opinion.
I didn't see the clubs table, but will look closer next time I'm at a show.

If nothing else it's entertaining to watch the people. Most seem kinda normal but there's always a handful who know less than nothing trying to be big shots with their homies.. My favorite is the overweight black guy who wears a security badge on a chain like he's all that in the PD.

Also need to find a decent 20 guage semi

I wonder if there will be firearm discharge (think summer 2022 show)
Yikes. We were there Sunday so we missed it but people were all talking about it.

Saw a couple good things at the last show but I was already in raleigh that weekend. Trying to decide if I’m going to make the drive.

Still hunting for a cheaper/shooter P7. I need to find one. I‘ve been eyeing this very nice M13 for $3700 at a local shop for like a year and it looks better and better every time I go.

I see some post about quality but nothing detailed. Is this gun show worth it guys and gals? I’ve been to one gun show and it was all overpriced mess that I could walk in any gun store and buy it cheaper. Not trying to be negative here just want to make sure it’s worth it.

Big show - 700ish tables when full. You will see the gamut from private sellers to dealers, well priced to overpriced. There will be at least a few dealers there with a good selection of collectible, out of production guns. There will be a couple big ammo dealers there and some smaller ones. There will be a couple good sized surplus dealers.

Some of the forum sponsors set up at this one and they have good prices, in my opinion. (@divisionarmsllc @carybrassguy and probably some others I have forgotten). I also think we are well priced and are usually less than most local shops, or at least competitive. We beat online dealers sometimes, too.

The only way you will know of it is worth your time is for you to come see it.

Forgive me but when you say we are well priced what are you referring to? Does the forum have a table there. I’m new here but if so I’m definitely coming.

Dumb question but should I bring cash in case I want to buy something? Will there be ATMs available or vendors that take card? Never been to a gun show before.
Cash is the only real way to have negotiating power.

Most of the ones I’ve seen have ATMs (assuming they’re not empty), and many of the vendors will take a credit card these days.

Not dumb. Yes bring cash. More than what you plan on spending. The atms at these events are overpriced. And the old saying cash talks. Also There’s always the tracking of credit card purchases. I’m sure others have more insight but these are just my opinions

For me it's worth it just to see the extent of what's available. There isn't a gun store anywhere you could walk in and see the quantity and variety they have at this show.

Feel free to punch the taser guy.

I agree and I like to listen to the ridiculous conversations from both the patrons and the vendors, People watch.

I inevitably run into this same guy and his wife at every show, he is pretty ripped for an older fella. Almost always has a Glock case under his arm.

Yes please punch the Taser guy.

When you leave the show, drive to Fuquay Gun and buy what you were looking for. Outside of collectibles etc. I found a Webley revolver at the last show for a really decent price.

@bagjlp1109 you can leave Fuquay and take 42 all the way home :)

Avoid the inside ATM's, they charge a lot more fees then your own back ATM. Most vendors do take cards.

I try to run a table for CFF but I have to work this weekend, I'll try to make the next Dixie show, nice place to meet up with fellow CFF members.
