Dixie Gun and Knife Show- May 6-7th Raleigh

Forgive me but when you say we are well priced what are you referring to? Does the forum have a table there. I’m new here but if so I’m definitely coming.

"Well priced" = "competitively priced." Sometimes we have some downright bargains when we are tired of looking at stuff or when we get a huge estate and have a lot of one particular thing to move.

The forum has a table at the show as volunteers can man it, but I don't think there will be one this time.

Good to know… but that’s gov stuff for ya.. state owned property, not using a state owned credit union. Guess they could make an extra buck
SECU is not owned by the State of NC. They are member owned.
One of the largest credit unions in the US, State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) was founded in 1937 and is a member-owned, non-profit financial cooperative organized under the laws of the State of North Carolina.

True… while it’s not owned by the state.. you are correct.. it’s owned by its members.. the employees of the state of North Carolina, so in a sense…

Except state employee members found the loophole to get friends and friends of friends and so on, into the membership.

Do you sell your son's knives at the shows you attend?

Only if he has some he wants to sell. He used to occasionally get his own table next to mine and sell his knives, but didn't have time to produce enough once he started college. He is starting a real job shortly and may have more time to make knives now that he is out of school.

I will be there Saturday with my CFF hat on. I have not met any of you guys, so if you see an old guy that you don't know wearing a CFF hat, please say hey!
I'll look for ya

We will be there, so there will be at least one vendor set up that doesn’t have junk. :)
Two. I’ll be there with a handful of nice English doubles, a long range LC Smith, and an example of the work I submitted to the gun maker guild. I’ll be with the guy with all the stuffed pheasants on his table. Look like this fellow.

Will you be selling the brooms ?

If anyone see a dealer selling Mausers Parts please get there contact info.

I need more parts for my M48 restore.

Thanks

Dumb question but should I bring cash in case I want to buy something? Will there be ATMs available or vendors that take card? Never been to a gun show before.
Some vendors will add the cc processing fee if you are not paying with cash. Bring a pocket knife that needs to be sharpened and have the people at the booth selling knife sharpeners demo on your knife.

There is an ATM outside near Dorton arena that doesn't have outrageous fees if you forget cash and want to stop there before you go inside.

This is usually a big show, and the January one seems to have better prices (post-election). I'm usually there for reloading stuff since no hazmat, but prices were all over the place last time I went with some vendors almost double others for components. I'm hoping the hype is over.

Avoid the inside ATM's, they charge a lot more fees then your own back ATM. Most vendors do take cards.
There's a State Employee Credit Union ATM just east (I think!) of the funny looking building next to the gun show.

Victory Arms of Mocksville has parts in their shop. They are set up but they won’t have parts with them. You can find them online.

The funny looking building is Dorton Arena and there used to be SECU ATMs there, but not any longer as @Button Pusher mentioned earlier. I've never used the machines there now, so don't know how much they charge.

I whiffed on getting a vintage Stevens Visible Loader at a good price. There's a beautiful Winchester Model 67 there at a fair price. I resisted and bought nothing but a ticket.

Saw a lot of AR buffer tube pistols, and still a few sellers with "conventional" AR braced pistols.

Thanks for the correction.

That SECU ATM was a lifesaver.

Still feel the show was about a 1/3 flea market stuff. The 2 guys in back with the 3-D printer got my attention. That was some hot s__t right there. Couldn't find a semi-auto 20 guage so I stopped at Bass Pro on the way home and bought the one I wanted there.

I saw some bulk 9mm for $249/1k. Lots of cheap Chinese crap tables and typical black polymer pistols/rifles. Some really nice older stuff. I only bought a ticket as usual.

Heard some great conversations. LOL. I got a couple leads on some custom knives. Looked for a neck knife but didn't find anything.
