So, does the stock work with the old rifles that took the Ruger plastic mags or just the new ones that are AR mag compatible? Iāve got one of each and want the ability to use AR mags.
Correct, in my research prior to ordering I watched a video of one of the Sharps Bros. Owner's installing the chassis and he makes the claim that is does make Mini 30 mag models compatible with the AR pattern counterpart. And it does just that, using only Duramag and ASC x39 mags in 10, 20, 28 and 30 this evening, I fired a 10 rounds each from a 30 & 28 with no issue and a single 10 & 20 to completion.now the heat seeker setup above suggests that the Ruger stock might work on a RAR in 7.62x39 allowing user to switch from Ruger mini 30 mags to a 7.62x39 AR magazine, which arenāt perfect but theyāre cheaper and easier to get.

ASC and Duramag x39 mags are the only brands that have worked out well for me and the only brands I suggest for both simi autos and now 7.62x39 RAR.
Interesting but not surprising š, I have ASC 10 & 20, Duramag 20, 28 and 30. I don't have many rounds behind the ASC 10's but their 20's have been good to me, so far. Duramag 28's are outstanding as my most used and as such, most consistent. Up until today, all of my experience has been with various manufacturer AR upper receivers and twin build spec lowers.my ASC 7.62x39 mags have been inconsistent. The Duramag 10 and 20 rd have always been my preference. Havenāt played with the 25 or 28 whatever the highest capacity version.
i kinda want to do a rar with the magpul in 6.5grenView attachment 611810View attachment 611811
Finally got mine on! If anyone wants the OG stock, it took AR mags as well.
Just fyi, these are on sale at Brownellās currently
Sameš³ššWoo, I got rooked paying full price to be one of the first kids on the block with it. Ouch.
So since I had great results with my 300 AAC, I did it again with the 5.56 ranch. Set up the new OD Green stock exactly like the FDE one along with the same Timney trigger. Took it out today for a test drive and was very pleased. I shot @ 200 yds with a Rock Jr rest and rear bag. YHM Turbo and 77 grain IMI Razorcore.Got everything installed except a front QD sling mount. I have it, just forgot to mount it.
Type 1 & 2 QD sockets for the rear, bipod mount, & Timney trigger. I set the trigger to 2.5 lbs according to my Wheeler trigger pull scale. No creep or pre-travel. šš»šš»

I may be interested in it if you get around to selling it.I have a Troy M1A chasis that's tan, or whatever the name is these days. I've been on the fence about installing it or selling it - mostly because of the color! LOL.
I painted my stock (.300), didn't come out great, but I like it better than the tan/coyote/FDE, etc.
