Did they assert the garand was limited to 50,000psi?They also pointed out that chamber pressure increasing from 50,000psi to 60,000psi is, after all, a full 20% increase in pressure and that's NOT insignificant!

Correct ....MKE 63-65 is known to have brittle brass and should be moved in new brass before using.I only pull down the MKE. I do not trust the brass, as some of it has been known to fail.
You're right. Their statement says SAAMI spec 30-06 is good to go since there's none that run above 60k psi. This is very clear but yet you muddy it with the 50k psi comment but can't back it with published facts.I'm not sure what else to tell you. The CMP statement is very clear regarding commercial ammo. Go over to their forum and argue with them if you want.

Pretty much lawyer responses from those two.I'm sure you'll understand when I tell you that I'm gonna go with the following experts on this as opposed to some random guy on a forum:
> The CMP
> The GCA (Garand Collector's Association - recommends only ammunition specifically loaded and designed for the M1)
Probably lawyers as well and their data is so anemic you can't even duplicate milsurp loads with it.> Hornady (who has separate load data in their reloading manual for 30-06 Springfield, and then 30-06 that is to be used in the M1 Garand)
He has repeated the 50,000psi chamber pressure limit myth as well.> Gus Fisher (Current GCA Technical Adviser and retired US Marine Corps Rifle Armorer)
He specifically mentioned using stupid heavy bullets and very slow powders while shooting 1000yd matches while on the Navy reserve team and they would tweak oprods that way....but they weren't using commercial ammo and they had .gov supplying the parts. No different on the other .mil teams.... beat the guns up...if gets a better X count we don't care, we'll build a new gun.> Jim Swartz (SME and expert machinist who has inspected/repaired well over 10,000 Garand op-rods)

Like I said...I pointed out where the "experts " are even quoting the wrong numbers."I'm right and everyone else is wrong" is generally not an effective method of arguing one's opinion.
I'll stick with the subject matter experts that I mentioned above. And with that said, I'm out✌️.
