Battery Oaks Meet and Greet Picture Thread

I know that this is a pic thread, but anyone care to share their favorite new experience? First time to shoot the .50BMG, first time shooting full auto, first time shooting suppressed, first time shooting a revolver, first time eating banana pudding with whipped crepe, etc.

Still sorry that I missed it.
First time catching a large bullet ricochet to the shin haha.

I've got an 8second slo-mo video of the recoil rippling across @Johnny shooting the barrett but can't figure out a way to post it at 12mb...
Upload it to YouTube and post it.

Looks like y'all had an awesome time. Would loved to have been there. I've got a new 20" M107 that I was planning on bringing had I been able to make it. Haven't sent a round through it yet. I'm still waiting for the A-Okay from the feds to go pickup the suppressor I ordered for it.

Maybe next time.

I got to shoot a Glock with the Micro Roni. It was pretty cool and I may have to get one. And, @Chdamn I never did get to shoot that Hudson, LOL.

Hopefully, we can get some more pictures up. If you have any, post em up.

Congrats to @RaceRedGT , he was the first place winner in the shooting competition and took home a $100 bill for his efforts.

Thanks to everyone that went to the trouble to bring some of their special toys and let others enjoy them. The hardware that was on sight was pretty darn impressive and the targets took a beating. LOL

A huge thanks to Ruan Westraad for making his 2 Barrett 50BMG rifles (and ammo!) available for anyone that wanted to shoot them...at no cost! And, a lot of people jumped on the opportunity. It's not every day that you get the chance handle and shoot, or even see, equipment like this.

Thanks to @BatteryOaksBilly for opening up his fine facility for all of us to enjoy. Over all, we had a great day with great people, a lot of fun was had, we all got to meet new friends and put names with faces. And, it was all done safely.

Chad, tell Amy that she needs to choke up a bit on a gun like that.;)

She did great. Shot a semi and a bolt 50, hit her targets with both

Also, attendees got the chance to fire a 50 B&M Rifle. It's an awesome bolt gun that packs a whallop. Does anyone have any pictures/videos of people shooting this? Put em up if you do.

That was a beautiful rifle and honestly hurt more to shoot than the BMG.

I heard one bad ass say “not so bad. More of a push than a kick”. I said “yeah it pushed my nipple out my back”.

I'll take a picture of the bruise on my shoulder. That thing was straight up nuts.

I know I missed out on a big time, and for the moment, I have my regrets. But, I did get a couple more projects completed at my daughter's house, used my Tacoma to pull a buddy's Yukon out of the mud, and got drunkern crap with my Dad. He wouldn't quit thanking me for spending the time with him and for the 'fresh off the rack' deer jerky I gave him.

So, not a total loss of a Saturday.

I'm glad to see you guys had a fun, but safe day!

Since I’ve been sick all week, drove 3.5 hours down there, stayed up all night Friday fending off @Burt Gummer torrid advances in the bunkhouse, ran around in the sun all day shooting and then drove 3.5 hours home that evening I was too tired last night to string together enough cogent thought to say thank you properly.

But I want to say thank you to Billy and his wife for their gracious hospitality. What a beautiful piece of land and a beautiful day to go along with it. Thank you for opening your home to us and sharing a piece of yourselves with everyone.

Thanks to the battery oaks crew for putting this together. I know from experience how much work something like this is. Thanks to the guys who went down early to help set things up.

Thank you to all who came. We enjoyed meeting you all. Enjoyed the conversations and sharing our guns and ammo with you and vice versa.

Thank you to everyone who brought food and cooked. For me that damn ham bog stole the show. And @gunbelt I want that biscuit recipe.

To anyone who is on the fence about coming to one of our events because you think you’ll feel like an outsider or you’re an introvert please give it a try. The mix of people at these things is nothing short of amazing and nobody is a stranger at an event for longer than 30 seconds.

I hope to see the SC crew at the annual BBQ this spring.
