I want to win.
I dont do this super seriously, but when I got 2nd in 22 class in the last PHA tactical match it made me want to work harder/smarter to be 1st.
Just because.
Two places I could have done better in the last match (without actually improving my shooting skills)
-I forgot that AR22 mags are 25 rounds, not 30...when youre on a 26 round count course you feel like an idiot at the end of the only mag you brought.
-On one of the courses I should have taken a few shots from the start instead of going physically moving first. Wouldve shaved a second or two.
I need to shoot more, I will practice more.
Solid analysis of post match scores. If this was the 11/17 match:
What you need to focus on is getting A zone hits. Looking at scores: had you slowed just enough to get a better sight picture before breaking shots you would have slaughtered everybody in .22 division. By a mile. You lost 1st place by 10 seconds, but here's the skinny: You had 42 C zone and 16 D hits. The 1st place dude had 15/4 respectively.
Each C zone adds a second and D +2 seconds. Add that up. 74 seconds! A massive chunk of time. If you had converted just 12 of those 42 C's to instead A's, you would have killed everyone in rimfire and placed much better overall. Or, if those D hits were all C hits, again you would have won by quite a bit. Something to think about! Get that first shot into the A zone and your second shot will be right there too.

Edit: If I am looking at wrong match just ignore me lol.
You are correct.
Also, I didnt realize you could take more than 2 shots, some of the folks were taking 3 shots per on some targets, I might do that the next time too if I am unsure of my hits.
Come again...? CGGR closing down USPSA?Shoot more alphas by staying with the sights until the shot breaks.
Think I'll go to Battle in the Bluegrass. Maybe some Northern Mid West things.
Heard a rumor CGGR is soon over and moving the monthly to VIR, if true RPS becomes my only feasible local for every month. Guess that leaves a lot of practice time.
Jason sent an email a couple days ago that said they haven't given up and the monthly will continue for the time being. Seems like maybe a contingency was being presented as a definite.Come again...? CGGR closing down USPSA?
Eww. Hate to lose that match.Jason sent an email a couple days ago that said they haven't given up and the monthly will continue for the time being. Seems like maybe a contingency was being presented as a definite.
Picked this up yesterday at the Coastal Carolina Challenge yesterday! For the record in the 2019 thread, going to shoot for winning my division at a major IDPA match this year. Hoping to shoot the Carolina Cup and Coastal Carolina.
My accuracy is on par, so I need to try to find some more time savers. Probably keeping the gun up and on target before I'm planted, and general weapons manipulations. Might do me good to run with some USPSA guys a couple times to find the time I'm waisting.
Quick updateWill shoot SWGC, RPS and CGGR as my monthly matches. Will shoot SC State and NC State as my majors. Goals - Top 5 in Limited at local matches. Win B class at SC State. Earn the match bump to A class. Top 10 in A class at NC State.
Maintain Dryfire routine of 5 days a week, 20 min a session. Start and maintain a consistent live fire routine. Will be scheduling a class with @GByerly .
Grand Master of FunI just wanna have fun!

Haters gonna hate, but finally able to make something out of myself
Really surprised the RPS classifier didnt get kicked out @Wolffy
A class CO seems in reach. But for a mike that I called bad but not a mike, I'd be there. A fricken C would've been a high M run. SMH.
One missed shot caused him a higher ranking in the USPSA worldEnglish please?
