Huh, I actually agree with J R. Who knew...
The “bag checkers” at my local Walhell are all retirees. It’s just “lip service” for corporate that they are trying to prevent loss. They aren’t possibly gonna stop anyone who is stealing...
I get asked about every 5th time and that’s only because there is no one leaving. Or if there is I’m usually the safest bet not to be a white trash crackhead who will make a scene or be obnoxious to them.
It’s my opinion that taking maybe 3 seconds to stop, exchange pleasantries while they glance at the receipt, smile and walk on is most likely a relief to them vs what the “people of Walmart” can conjure up lol.
The early 70’s fella wearing the combat vet hat actually apologized to me when he checked and said it’s because all my items weren’t in a bag. (Two kids fishing poles for the niece and nephew) so that took all of 3.5 seconds the other day.
I just don’t see excercising my rights against a minimum wage retiree that’s supplementing their income or staving off boredom as the Hill I wish to fight upon.
