So finally joined a gun club (Woodys) and getting the band back together.
Stocked up of gun food
And trying out some new methods and designs for stands. Currently I been using the cheap flimsy steel (or aluminum?) folding saw horses. for the most part they work great. Mount a piece of plank wood on top to add more stability for heavier targets (like 1/2 AR500). While they hold up well to bullets, the problem is they no longer store compactly once they get all mangled.
So i wanted to build something that was simple, strong, and made of a few components that can be replaced, but most importantly broken down for easy transport. Wood saw horses are the WORST BTW. they get shredded to pieces from rifle spalling and make a mess of your vehicle.
Will post some shooting vids and such at the range with other targets. more stand designs to come as well...
Supplies:
-10ft 3/4 EMT conduit (x2)
-3/4 compressed/threaded adapter (x4)
-3/4 elbow joint (x2)
-3ft of 1 inch perforated zinc tubing
-2in 5/16 U hooks (x3)
-assortment of 5/16 paraphernalia
-hacksaw
-steel targets
Some photos of the build process and the finished product with two 12inx.5in AR500 plates. The modular design can accept a few configurations. I will be building another one with a 4 or 5ft cross bar for a 5-6 target rack in near future.
