This is freakin crazy. And in places where this crap keeps going like this, I wouldn't be surprised if damn near all cops come down with the blue flu. So what is going to happen as more and more police officers move to other areas where the city government will have their back. Before long cities like Chicago will have no one to hire. So then they have to lower the testing standards to get anyone to take the job. Now you are going to have newer, less seasoned officers out there doing the job and what could possibly go wrong with this idea. Sadly the good people are the ones who will be effected. Crime rates will continue to rise and businesses will continue to leave the area. The city will be the big loser in the end.

Yep, bringing backpacks full of frozen water bottles, rocks, fireworks, etc. Sharpening the ends of the pvc. Man, these people are looking to really eff some cops up. Planning, organizing, getting it together. Stuff we really need to pay attention to. This election may really turn up the heat.

Absolutely agree, stack some bodies and it'll end right quick, but none of the city officials have the nads for something like that. So in the meantime, people are getting hurt, etc. Total BS man.
 
I would think that a dozen officers with shotguns loaded with less than lethal rounds could have dealt with that group. Even pepper spray with a marking dye and then send in the goons to round them up.
 
They are effective only as long as the Mayor Allows them to be.

I was impressed with the umbrella and bicycle tactic. It appears they either didn't think about or weren't worried about the Air Evidence. This clip could open some eyes if shown nationally.
 
This is why the Feds are sending in the DHS Federal Protective Service ladies and gentlemen into these Chicago now, just like Portland. Culling the pre-identified trained "bad apple" organizer/instigators out now that they're indisputably on video destroying Federal Property. The clueless pajama boys and fat white girls with the umbrellas won't know how to sharpen PVC without them.

The police can bring more physical violence than this group, but the first time they open up on a mob will be the last time that a mob isn’t armed. From that point forward it’s a shooting war, and the police aren’t structured to win a shooting war.

Several months back, Sarah Hoyt had a really good blog about being angry, mad to the point of waking up clenching the sheets, teeth gritting mad, wanting to go crack skulls and kill. No, I’m not talking about taking on the Antifa weenies, but a different group. She concluded that the wise course would be to still try to use the non violent system tools to enact needed change because once the Jinn leaves the bottle it isn’t going back in any time soon and we can always choose to crack skulls tomorrow.
 
These folks are using the Constitution against us! The 1st Amendment works like a charm to get everyone together and pre-staged.

I am a bit impressed on how well organized they were. Everyone involved had a purpose. The cops need to infiltrate and find out who the ring leaders are and bust them for domestic terrorism.

I wonder how the Chinese would have handle this? ;)

They are "infiltrating", so to speak. See my post #14 above. They know who the trained, nationally organized "ringleaders" are. Antifa Sergeants, Lieutenants, Majors, if you want to call them that. They have been designated a "Terrorist Organization" as of a few weeks ago, remember? Charges like "Domestic Terrorism" are inflammatory and are hard to make stick, so they're being arrested on "Destruction of Federal Property" charges because that's easy to make stick when you have them on freshly-obtained video doing so. These carry five to ten year sentences in the Federal Pokey. These people are being "snatched off the street" because wading into a "Peaceful Protestor" mob is dangerous to all involved. Pretty smart strategy I'd say.

Trump is the Flight 93 Presidency now. We the People are the passengers. Career Professional Washington DC, (the Swamp), the MSM, Academe, most of Hollywood and Pop Culture and The Dems in particular, are the terrorists determined to either get their way or drive the plane into the ground in the name of their religion.

Maybe a second set of barricades, just 10’ out from the first, and some concertina wire in the middle, to greatly reduce the physical interaction between police and rioters. Video of them attacking is probably a good recruiting tool, video of them tangled up and crying, not so much. People don’t join up to look foolish.

So should the news continue to only report and show what justifies their agenda and events like this are dismissed as if they don’t happen? This is conservative campaign material and should be a call to all Americans to be prepared for bad days ahead.

If a person covered to hide their identity with flammable device in hand and tries to toss it then they are an arsonist and should be shot on site with LTL and prosecuted.

I have a buddy from college, he's a sergeant with CPD, the 18th district. He said he's too far in now regarding his pension (20+ years), but if he had to do it all over again, he would not have.

So far the present demonstrators have not stepped up to violence with firearms and bombs as did the Weathermen and others back in the Vietnam anti-war days and I don’t see them going to that tactic today. Too much to loose and nothing to gain except dead leadership. Much better the present course of peaceful turns violent at their discretion. Note that their purpose is too make the evening news and scare the voting public which will soon backfire if they continue the violence. Trump and company would be better off standing down and let the violence continue but again they think power will win over purpose...wrong.

Indeed. The whole lets declare someone a terrorist and constitutionally enshrined rights go out the window is problematic. I was listening to a current events blog yesterday and the blogger put it this way, in regards to the police but this applies just as well to the feds: "The left believes they are their enemy. The right believes that they are their friends. Both are wrong."

I think they were trying to egg on a violent reaction against the masses, which would likely be seen by the public at large as a moral victory for their side. Reading the comments in this thread, it is clear that we are seeing an organized system (govt., cops, etc) acting against what is largely a disorganized system. This ramp up by the feds to go after the supposed leaders shows the weakness of both. The organized system sees everything as an organized system and tries to attack it as such, by going for what it sees as the head. Think of an organized system as a spider. If you chop off enough of it's legs you stop or kill the spider. Think of the disorganized system as a starfish. If you chop off it's legs, you don't kill it and instead get two starfish. Being a disorganized system, the govt. will likely find that another "leader" quickly pops up to replace the ones they nailed.

Whining on twitter makes them the victim, a strategy that works against perceived tyranny every time. The recently deceased Lewis got his head bashed in several times and as a victim rode it to the halls of Congress. These kids today are playing the same card for their cause and who knows, they may make a difference no matter how right or wrong.

We are living in a time that even some who are reasonably intelligent are swayed by the constant barrage of propaganda.
How much easier are the unwashed masses manipulated.

Find out and go after the leaders, financiers and the 'public servants' who are using this for their career benefit.

Need to be careful here. As you pointed out, the media, big tech, etc, which is on their side will spin the propaganda. Use of coercive force can also backfire. Instead of intimidating someone into submission they may in turn go after you, your family, or even a third party that they see is on your side. A good term for it would be Unintended Consequences (hint: the book). It's much as @JimB I believe it was put it: if the response to their throwing bricks and water bottles was deadly force you only guarantee that next time the rioters will be armed with guns and IEDs.
