Leadslinger's is a no-go for me. Not even as a mixer. Especially when it's priced around $30 (I think). It's just bland and boring. Now if it were $10 a bottle, it might be worth it. Maybe.
@Midliferally , I am in love. It's all I heard it would be.
If you are not a big sour mash fan this is not for you.
Goes real good with Tammy Wynette! LOL!

Much lighter than the 1856. Corn is only 51% here versus 84% on the 1856 so not as corny/sweet. Its light bodied with an almost malty scotch like mouth feel. I taste citrus and melon. Its incredibly smooth drinking with zero Kentucky Hug in my opinion making it a super easy sipper. Please tell us how you like it!
Because...
...it was rainy and dreary but cool.
Because...
...today at work all I ate for lunch was wild oyster mushrooms that we found, pickled, and canned (and they make me feel strong and froggy).

Because...
I worked a 6 day work week for the third time this month.
Because....
...my 17 year old awesome daughter already had the firebowl started for me when I came down the driveway (in the rain I might add, my mini-me is awesome if I do say so myself, and I do).

Because...
...a dear friend gave me this bottle, this is what I am drinking tonight.
And although @rantingredneck , and @BurnedOutGeek know I haven't been a HUGE Balvenie fan over the years, they knocked this one out of the park! I loves it!
Firebowl is lit. Y'all come on over if ya want to.

No telling what that bottle would have been worth to a couple local spots in Charlotte that stock vintage stuffI have gone Old School. Decided to crack a bottle of Old Grand-Dad from the 70's (GA tax stamp shows 1975) to see if it went bad. NOPE
Next up is a bottle of Old Forester.

Crunkleton Charlotte has a lot of old stuff dating back to prohibition times. The price goes up as the age goes up@Wahoo95 please give me the name of those places. That is the only bottle of Old Grand-Dad that I have that is not in a box. That is the reason I picked it. I have a bunch of older liquors (not opened) from the 70's. Both clear and brown.
Tonight's pour

Damn brother! I'll have another drink for you.Travellers Choice blended whiskey. Cheap as anything and rough as a cob.
Man..... me send a buddy drank WAY too much of that one night when we were about 20 yrs old. That had to be the worst hangover I've ever had. I felt like someone had dressed up in an Easter bunny costume and beat me with a steel dildo the next morning.Travellers Choice blended whiskey. Cheap as anything and rough as a cob.
