Can’t make this one. Was planning to go to our daughter’s field day at school but now we’ll be hanging around the house. She came into the bedroom this morning at 2:30 hugging a trashcan and a temp of 104.3 😢🥺

CB, sorry to hear about the sick kiddo. I love good brisket. I'm kind of spoiled though. My wife's uncle moved from Shelby to Texas many moons ago and after he retired, he just sat up by the roadside most weekends and sold Texas BBQ he's smoked. We went to visit once and I haven't had better brisket since. JD's in Lenoir & Gamewell are close. Dickey's in Hickory is good (to me) as well. Although sometimes it can be dry. Peddalin' Pig in Boone is good as well.
