My home defense pistol is a CZ Scorpion, and I needed a weapon-mounted light. I used a Streamlight TLR-1 on the Scorpion for a few months and was unhappy with how the light adjusted the profile of the gun and the tail switch location.
I was working a trade show in February 2020, and the next booth over was Streamlight. They had just come out with the ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser, and I could demo it at the show during downtime between customers. After I got home, I bought one.
All In One Package
What I love about this system are all the parts you need come in one box.
The Light-Laser System
ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser has three great features.
Sighting in the Laser
The hole to the right is the laser port.
The included pressure pad. The main pad is monetary on/off the large button is click ON, click OFF
Results,
I now have a laser that's the point of aim, point of impact at 10yards. I have shot out to 25 yards, and on a 10" plate, I still get results 100% of the time.
No matter what kind of home defense firearm you have, the gun needs white light for threat identification. The Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser is perfect for any long-gun, carbine, or braced pistol. The functionality of the kit is durable and an enhancement to your home defense.

- The Light with Laser
- Rail Mount
- Pressure pad
- Tail Cap
- Rail clips for Pressure Pad
- Zip ties
- Double-sided tape
The Light-Laser System
ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser has three great features.
- The laser can be sighted at any distance you choose.
- The body shape is a hexagon. This shape aids in mounting the laser in 45deg increments, left or right side of the firearm. This feature maintains the laser's elevation and windage in a UP/DOWN orientation.
- The laser is within the light housing.
Sighting in the Laser
- Sight-in the firearms optic at 25yds
- Setup a new target with a clean backer at 10 yards
- Shoot a group at 10yds aiming center mass of the target
- Due to mechanical offset, the group's impact is low
- Place firearm in a rest, aim the optic center of mass of the 10-yard target
- Turn on ProTac, adjust laser elevation/windage until the laser is in the middle of the ten-yard shot group
The hole to the right is the laser port.
The included pressure pad. The main pad is monetary on/off the large button is click ON, click OFF
