100 Yards

I might print it out and try to group mine at 100. I have some cheap ammo that shoots pretty dang good. Need to pony up for some lapua, wolf, SK to see what it can really do.

I have some Eley Force that I want to try out. I know my Eley Target drops about 9.5 inches at 100 meters (sighted in at 50 meters) Have some Geco 40gr that I want to try also.

Geco is what I have been shooting. Great stuff for the $$

Made it out today. I do not have copies of the targets. It rained the entire time. Only shot two different types of ammo. Five shot groups at 100 meters. Eley Target best group was 3/4". Shot Geco and was not happy at all with it. Could not get a good group. Would have two shots that were close and then the next three would be all over the place and that was all five targets. Did not get a chance to test Eley Force and Eley Match (black box). I did not expect Eley Target to do as well as it did. That ammo is made for 50 meters, but did well for 100 meters.

Rifle is sighted at 50 meters using Eley Target and Eley Match. At 100 meters there was a ten inch drop which I was not surprised at. I had calculated 9 inch, so I was fairly close. Had fun doing it. When my scope for my Stevens comes I will try it again. My eyes are not good enough to use the peep sight anymore. Also want to try the Geco at 50 yards with my Anshutz and the Stevens to see how it does.

Interesting to hear your experience with the geco. Mine groups pretty good at 50 but I haven't shot groups at 100. Wonder if I'll have the same results? I plan to test a bunch of ammo again when my mask is approved to see if the extra weight affects harmonics enough to matter.

I have noticed over the years that 22 rifles can be very picky about ammunition. I have some rifles that shoot every thing very well and others that just like one or two types

I was using a Savage with a scope and some off the shelf Winchester HV ammo. Did not shoot any targets but put a golf ball on the 110-yard berm and watched to bounce around. Couple round got stuck inside of the ball. Most you can see small marks where the bullets hit and bounced off. I found shooting the ball more fun than shooting paper.

100 yard and further shooters do you get better groups with high velocity or standard/subsonic at the 100 and further ranges?

My personal experience has proven subsonic ammo having more consistent accuracy.
