I can’t afford to see that. Wanna strip nickel off an old prewar S&W Hand Ejector, polish it a little and hot blue it?

While we are on the subject of A.H. Fox shotguns, can you give me some information on this 12 gauge. It has 32 inch barrels and shoots a very tight pattern. I used to shoot 3" shells out of it for ducks when lead shot was allowed. It was refinished before I got it back in the 1970s. What are the meanings of the H under the barrels and the O on each barrel? I have not shot it in quite a while and would love me to get it into the field for some turkey hunting this spring. Thanks for any information you can provide. PXL_20211127_013249625.jpg

@Charlie Nice gun! Early A grade it looks like from the shallow and sparse engraving. I would expect that a 32” barrel and you shooting 3” out of it (assuming 3” chambers), you have a Super Fox or wildfowl model, which would be quite sought after by the Fox dudes. Ejector gun to boot! The “H” I’m guessing is an inspector mark, and the “0” stamped on the tubes should be an indicator of the barrel weight prior to striking.

The fellow who traded me for it said it was 3" chambers, and I never had any problems with 3" shells. The forcing cone is farther from the breech than on a 2 3/4" A.H. Fox I have. Thanks.

Nice. Take it to the Fox Collector booth at the Southern Side-by-side festival next April in Sanford and they’ll tell you anything you’d want to know. Very nice Fox.
