I like Ivory! HEH...................

Thanks, I went over had a look, and I think I am going to look closer at some S&W N Frame grips I am in need of...... Thanks for making me aware.

I wish Id appreciated Ivory at a younger age, by the time Id developed a taste for proper "Steel" and the like, Ivory had exploded in cost...and then, just plain not available.

Oh well, such is life... hopefully they wont ban nice wood <_<

He sent a bunch of stuff to get chromed including some parts of an Irwin Pederson Carbine and an SKS. You can see some rust pits under the chrome, so I think it was refinished. I think it was made around 1919, and the chrome looks too thick and shiny to be original.

and then, just plain not available.
It's still available Joshua. You just gotta go get it. @Michael458 has enough to make at least 1,000 sets. I steal some everytime I go. Seriously. they are still available. Ivory for SAAs now in the $750 range while Pearl is over $1,000. I paid $800 for a set of Pearl Blanks!!!

Your grips cost more than my gun!!!

Most of mine.

I didn't realize I laid them out on the flag upside down but, apparently they feel like they are in distress!

I will never forget about @BatteryOaksBilly and I were at a gun show in Columbia SC. This was just under about a 100 years ago, and money was hard to come by in those days, I only had so much to budget towards any firearm. I was in search of some sort of lever gun, I had a heavy dose of tunnel vision. This was long before the days of GunBroker, in fact, it was before computers were invented I believe..... LOL..............

Anyway, we are walking around, and this fellow had a pristine damn NIB Colt National Match, box, target, everything...... $400.00. I pondered, and was in some anguish time to time, especially walking by it several times, but my mind was made up, I wanted this damn lever gun and was in search of that, and nothing else.................I can't remember exactly now why I left without the National Match, whether I went around again and it was gone, or whether I was just stupid and holding the money for the lever gun, which was not at the show anyway.......... But none the less, I never got the National Match. I will never forget that, and I will always regret that I did not get it. Probably would have saved a pile of money in the end......................

It was not until 2019 that I decided I had to have one! I was cruising GunBroker and came across a very nice, near pristine National Match. It now lives here with me and I get it out on occasion and give it a rub..................What a fine thing it is............

Have you seen the old movie Freebie and the Bean? Search out the bowling alley bathroom scene on Youtube, your gun was used in the movie. It's worth the effort to see that couple of minutes.
