Recently picked up this 1970 Shakespeare X26 Necedah (50@28). Been looking for one for a while. These Shakespeare bows were a direct competitor with Bear and Ben Pearson bows during the "Golden Age" of traditional archery (50's, 60's and 70's) and are superb shooters and beautiful examples of traditional recurve bows. This bow is fast, forgiving and accurate. I have 16 traditional bows and this one may be the best shooter of the collection. This bow was in good shape but I had to clean her up a bit and get a new B50 Dacron string and new arrow rest. Some minor crazing in the fiberglass in a few locations but overall very solid for a 39 year old bow.

Very nice .

I wish I would have kept all the bows I have ever owned.
I'm just down to my grayling super Kodiak that sits. .. Really need to do something about that.

I have one, mine is 45# @58". I bought it around 1960. I use to let my Archery Students shoot it along with some of the other traditional bows and most of time this one was the favorite. It is a good feeling bow and a great shooter.
