I have a 1970, three screw, Ruger Single Six .22/.22 mag that is unconverted. It has a 6.5” barrel and I have both cylinders.IMG_1737.jpeg
It is three years too old (transfer bars started in them in ‘73 I think I read) to have come with a transfer bar. I enjoy having the ability to switch between the two rounds as needed but am bothered by not being safely able to fill all of the holes…..
I also know that Ruger will install the transfer bar at no cost to me.
I just feel kind of guilty “neutering” the old pistol and changing the nice trigger pull.
Maybe it’d be better off in someone’s hands that would appreciate the three screw model?
Anyone fairly close with a transfer bar model Single Six .22/.22mag want to trade?
What does the consensus say about my choices?

I'll trade you!

Thanks for the wisdom guys,
The Single Six in question will have a different address tomorrow evening.
Y’all have a great afternoon.

Very sorry that I’m late to this conversation.

I'll trade you!
I tried to leave positive feedback for @rufrdr but I think it wouldn’t take because I didn’t create a threat in the BST area.
So….I’ll say it here. Rufrdr was easy to communicate with and agreed to meet me halfway.
He was a pleasure to deal with and I’ll gladly deal with him again.
He’s GTG, deal with confidence.
Thanks,
JD

That goes double for Mr. Durham! I meet so many great folks through this forum.

How do you like the new model? I have a similar problem. Only I’m thinking about trading up for a stainless convertible model.
I love it. It has been a very frequent companion with me during woods walks here on the farm.
I also wear it in a chest holster when I’m mowing the fields.IMG_1794.jpegIMG_1794.jpeg
