Nice looking truck. But I've never heard of a ford 352 v8

Listing as 5000 miles is a bit sketchy as well

Nice, but....

It will never be a daily driver nor will you want to work it.
With the 351m (stock engine for that year) you might get 12mpg.
Check if it's a converted full time to part time transfer case (hint: locking hubs). This would be a show stopper.
1st door ding or rock chip, you'll cry.

Hmmmm. Admittedly I'm not a for gas engine guy, and I've never heard of a 352. Apparently it's a 351.86 and not a 351.

I like it, if you swapped the transmission out for something with an over drive it'd work as a daily driver. I drove an 87 with an AOD for a couple of years without issues. It kept up on i95 going 65-70. It probably won't go down in value much if you halfway take care of it. Idk about ford but chevys in that year range are going up in price.

Edit - as it sits it'd probably be a in town cruiser, I wouldn't think it'd
make a decent highway rider

That thing needs chrome bumpers and either chrome or polished wheels.

Nice ride otherwise.
I agree, black only seems to work on new trucks or old trucks that are slammed and kind of ratted out imo

looks good but I'd put my 20k somewhere else. Plus if you are looking at using it as a driver you will be sad when it rides like a real truck. I had an older friend go an buy a f-100 because it was a memory. Well part of that memory he forgot was just how bad they drove.

Only thing I would change is a 4 speed with granny low. I had a 73 short bed that I regret selling.

Nice looking on top with nice paint and clean motor. No pics of the undercarriage.......makes me wonder if anything was done there or if this is a slap some nice on it and let the next guy deal with bushings and mounts and rust..........

It's 43 years old....it was and is and has been used as a work truck. If you like it for what it is, then that's all that matters. Your money spend it any way that you think Might make you happy....just expect to get to know that truck Really well in the coming days.

When that motor came out in 1958 it was truly the first "new" motor Ford had done in quite a while. It progressed to the 390-406-427 iterations. I had a buddy that I went to High School with that had a 1958 short body 2 door 300 Custom with a 352 Police Interceptor in it. It had a 3 speed column shift tranny with overdrive. When the 3 Two Barrel Carbs were running in sync it was a terror.

I'd hit it....

My dad had two Fords with 352ā€™s. 64 and 65. The first big block (FEā€™s) I believe.
They were sluggish compared to his 67 with a 390.

If I was looking for a truck, I'd check it out. Cheaper than a new one, hell, cheaper than most used ones around here. Already almost 50yrs old, with little maintenance will live more than another 50yrs. For me, I use my truck, like a truck, I haul the boat to the ramp, I take it in the woods to hunt, I haul crap to the dump, truck stuff, mine probably gets 5K miles a yr. I'd use it for that.
Only thing I don't like? They need to put a little more tire in those wheel wells.

I bought an 84 model when I graduated college....one of the best trucks I ever owned....A boy asked me one day If I wanted to sell it and I threw a price on it. I didn't think he had any money anyway. The next day he brought his Dad with him to look at the truck and they drove off in it.....Regreted it ever since....big sigh.....šŸ˜

I can think of two times that happened to me and I sold vehicles I now wish I would not have.

The bad thing about the whole thing.....I had to see the truck all the time and the boy totally trashed the truck over a couple of years... It was super nice when I sold it to him... It finally wound up at the scrap yard....A wise man told me something after that happened....Never sell a vehicle to someone you know

Sold two cars to my brother. Crashed ( totaled ) one. Blew the motor in the other and gave it back.

I would shy away from it. The FE 352 is not correct for that truck. Going by memory the 352 ended in 76 and that does look like a 352 by what I can see in the pics. The 5 bolt pattern on the valve covers and the intake runs under the valve cover are dead give aways for it being a FE. In 4WD that truck should have had the "M" series 351M400 engine backed with the C6 trans and either the NP203 full time case or the NP205 part time case. It does have selectable hubs up front but thats no guarntee of it being the preferred NP205 part time case. The shift pattern on the t-case shifter would answer that question. Many put selectable hubs on the full time 4WD trucks to try and gain fuel mileage but that is not a proper conversion and still left you with the weaker chain driven case VS the stronger gear driven case of the NP205. 2WD had a few other engine options but this one is obviously 4WD. Also that is a factory air conditioned cab but there is no a/c compressor shown which would have been mounted high on the drivers side of the engine. Also the heater/AC controls are missing from the dash and would have been above the radio slot. As far as the grill/headlights it may be correct depending on the original trim level of the truck. The lower models of the custom and ranger had the round headlights but when you bumped up to ranger XLT or ranger lariat you got the square headlights like all 79 models had. That is not a 77 grill as mentioned earlier as 77 had a vertical divider in the center of the grill. Grills, grill shells and headlights are often swapped around as anything from 73-79 all fit that front end. Bottom line for 20K I would not do it on that truck with out much more info/inspection.

That looks like a vertical divider to me and I'm pretty sure its a 77 grill. I do agree that the grills get swapped around on those trucks...I've got a buddy that has a 75 with a 79 grill and headlights

LMAO, dont know what the hell I was thinking or looking at. You Sir, are correct..... And on closer inspection I do believe that truck has the full time NP203 transfer case and someone put manual hubs on it. There is a small rectangular light on the bottom of the dash towards the center. That would be a lock indicator for one of the positions on the 4WD that only came with the NP203.
