Item 2 under Responding to ads in the BST rules says:

2. Keep your posts in a BST ad relevant to that specific sale. Clarifying questions about the item are OK, but nobody cares if you wish you were closer, if you have one just like it, or that you wish the seller good luck with the sale.

The 1st Ammendment only protects you from GOVERNMENT persecution over what you say. It literally only says that (for instance) you can't be arrested by government agencies for talking trash about the government.

It says less than zero about what you can and cannot say in a privately owned forum. The owners of this forum can make their own rules. And that has nothing whatsoever to do with your 1st Ammendment rights. Nothing. Zero. Not related at all.

By your "logic" you would literally be turning the 1st Ammendment 180 degrees backwards. If it applied here, that would mean a government regulation applies to a privately owned business. Amd nobody wants that.

Relax.

Well, no, not in a For Sale ad, you don't have any rights. Doesn't this thread make it clear that posts get deleted because of the rule about ads? In this thread, you can say a lot of things that would be deleted in an ad.

This silly banter was fun for a post or two, but now it is bothersome.

So, this privately owned forum has rules posted for commenting on BST ads and you’re upset when you get caught breaking those rules and then create threads to whine about being caught?!? The double down when the reason is explained to you? Good luck with that

You do understand that your baker analogy is completely backward right? He owned his business and was demanded to support speech in and by his business that he disagreed with.

So as an owner of this forum you're demanding that I support speech in my business that I disagree with.

Didn't say you did. I'm carrying your right to free speech in a private business to it's logical extreme.
 
Let see if I have this straight.

You knowingly broke a rule. An unpaid and volunteer moderator either saw it or someone reported it (doesn’t matter which) and instead of them getting pissed about having to moderate someone again who can’t seem to follow a simple set of rules (assuming they’re a grown ass man and can read) and giving you a warning on your account they simply delete it and to be nice they put the reason why so you’d know.

Now given the above you had a few choices. Act like a grown ass man and say ok that’s right. My bad. (Hell, some new members even send a pm to a moderator saying hey I’m sorry I forgot or I didn’t know). You chose to act like a 2 year old and complain about something asinine like the 1st amendment which has nothing to do with the situation.

No please. Keep going. You’re making a great case for contraception.

There are plenty of sections on this forum where BS abounds. Great areas to hash things out and speak your mind. BST means that. I used to comment and try to help someone sell something then I got my wrist slapped and I stopped doing it in order to NOT clutter up the BST. Say whatever you like , just say it in the appropriate place. 😁
