2 North Carolina cities among top 15 in nation for fastest-growing homicide rates

The list is really a bit deceptive. It's listing the fastest growing homicide rates, but the number to really look at is the homicides per capita in the next column over. Raleigh ranks #14 on the fastest growing list, but Memphis at #23 has over three times the homicides per capita and Tulsa at #17 is more than double. Durham is about mid way between Raleigh and Charlotte in homicides per capita, which I'm sure will come as a shock to some of the folks in the local real estate community. Hopefully some of the better candidates for local offices can get this info out to their constituents before the elections. Yeah, I'm an optimist.

I do know I'm staying the hell away from St. Louis, Kansas City and Detroit, though.

So is carrying concealed, not going places that would likely involve the use of self defense and locking up the Aholes that commit crimes........ but we can't have everything.
Yeah since I started at the courthouse I have even less hope.
