Chicken Lady says that her car is doing weird things. I can't get it to do it but........ Said she can be driving down the road and intermittently the tach will go from ~1000 to 3000. Says it feels like she is going town a rough road when it happens. She's scared to drive it now so I gotta get something done. Any ideas on where to start?

Edited to add this is a closed transmission system and I can't check the fluid. Dang jap cars..............

Yes, our Cruze is the same. No way to check the level, no filter to change. I had to research to even find that the fluid needs to be changed every 30k. That little piece of important info wasn't in the owners manual.

The gf got Nissan to buy her 16 back for transmission issues the the dealer was unable to fix after 7 times there.

Same exact symptoms
How many miles? This one has less than 30K.....................

Yes........since 2007 or so most of their cars use a CVT transmission. Combine that with Nissan going downhill...... Nissan used to make very good vehicle....... Id rather have a Kia now.

Describes the problem to a hilt. Heading to Nissan tomorrow with the printed copy.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I reckon I should have stuck with a semi-American vehicle. She wanted to trade in for a Rogue but that ain't happnin now. Thanks folks..........................................................

Get a Honda or Toyota.

I bought a new Nissan 2yrs ago, so far, no transmission issue. Mine has an unlimited mile power-train warranty.

5 yr 60,000 mile warranty. Possible extended on drivetrain to 100,000. How are you screwed?
Its at the Nissan place now. Found out they extended the drive train warranty to 85,000 miles or November of 2028. Told them to make sure they fixed it the first time cause I don't want to bring it back.

Good luck with that. Find a chair in the service department waiting room you can lay claim to. J/K hope they get you back on the road the first time. I just had one come into shop. 46K CVT trans DOA. Sent to dealer for warranty.
