Nice... I saw one of these in Rutherfordton a week or two ago. Took me a minute to figure out what it was. Looked great. They should push that HP up about 100 and then you would have something but I am sure it would push the price up over their target number. 0-60 in 7.5 is not that quick.
This is true but they did not want to take from the WRX so that’s why this one is built like this.
Sooooo….they have one car that looks like a box and will fly like Hell and another that is quite snazzy looking that won't get out of it's own way. Marketing....
You have to remember that this car was a joint venture design with Toyota/Scion. They sold it as the FRS IIRC. They were constrained by the target audience of the Scion brand. Starter cars that looked good for millennials.
The WRX sells well and has a hardcore following so doing something that would hurt its sales would not be in the best interest of Subaru although as a company they have lost a lot of money in 2018. Sales of the WRX are down about 8% for the year.

Have you driven one? If not then maybe you should. Besides you can’t compare the two. They are 2 totally different types of cars and platforms.
I have the WRX not the other thing. WRX was impressive. As Peter Eagan said of the WRX..You have to drive them like you're mad with them. I certainly realize they are two different cars, I am always amused at what some folks call their Performance Packages. 0-60 in 7.5, now really.
Had an old toyota that was 200/200 stock (crank hp, not at the wheels, at wheels it put down 160/160...well, on the dyno mine was, like 164/162 or something)
I'd have a hard time putting that money down on something making less tq but 20 years newer.
It's a great looking car though, they look real slick, but needs to have a little bit more, in my opinion.

Im looking online, looks like used starts at 10k and goes up from there to as high as 30k for new!

This is fact.
I try to take it smooth and easy when the little wife is in the car with me, so she doesn't feel like a bobble-head. The WRX doesn't like it much. It accelerates and shifts a lot more smoothly if you flog it.

Thanks man. Ya I drive mine the same way. When wife is with me I take it easy. But she (the car) don’t like it. Always trying to go faster lol
