Sunday March 21st
1400-??
$25 prepaid

Venue
@VOD Tactical
438 Walker Drive
Old Fort, NC 28762

Purpose
The goal is to give exposure to the structure and etiquette of a typical 2 or 3-Gun match. After attending, a new shooter will have the confidence and core skill set to attend a formal match.

We’ll go over:
- Equipment setup
- Common rule sets
- Stage briefs
- Range Commands
- Etiquette
We’ll run 2 simple stages with a focus on how to approach a stage, what to do and when.

Low round count, .22lr friendly, or just observe.

What to bring
.22lr is OK!

- Pistol w/2 magazines. 50 rounds
- Rifle w/2 magazines. 50 rounds
- Shotgun optional. 25 round birdshot, no larger than #6 shot
- Belt with magazine carriers, optional but highly recommended. We’ll go over belt setup.
- Secure holster that covers trigger guard, OWB only. If you’re going to wear a holster, OWB is required.

If you don’t have any of the above, I’ll have stuff to loan. Or, observe only if that’s your preference.

Except ammo, get with me if you need to borrow a gun for acceptable ammo to bring.

NO armor piercing or steel core rifle ammo!

So, who am I?

I started shooting 3-Gun about 14 years ago. With all of that experience, I am a solid middle of the pack shooter. I’ve won stages, but not matches. I am the guy there for the giggles and to bust chops with my buddies. If you want to learn what it takes to attend any match in the country without feeling out-of-place, I’m your guy. If you have dreams of being the next World Champion, you’ll be disappointed.

Time and interest permitting, we can get basic DOPE on your rifles out to 300 yards. To do so, your rifle must have a basic zero (any distance) before arrival.

Registration
PM me here.
Payment via PP, Venmo, Zelle due when your registration is confirmed.

I need 5 confirmations to cover the range fee, max 15 attendees. If we don’t hit the minimum refunds will be given.

Please post questions!

Y’all, if you haven’t shot a match before, but think you would like to, please take this opportunity and resource to try it. Do this and you will not regret it. Then go try a match.
Instead of mindlessly burning ammo at paper from a line at your local range and calling it “practice”, go do this.
I promise you you’ll be happy you did.

😄
I'm in.
I'm also definitely bringing 22LR for the AR, I gotta find some shotgun shells.

I'm guessing payment via paypal or something?

Hey Tim,
I'm in. Are you going to be at ARPC Friday afternoon so I can pay you there? If not I will meet up before Saturday.

@Tim , If I am able to break free on Sunday would I be able to pay in cash when I get there, or is this pay in advance?

The “prepaid” requirement is to prevent drop-ins and no-shows. I need to have a solid idea of headcount for planning.

if you’re a definite “I’ll be there!”, PM me and we’ll work it out!

I'm not positive yet, I may have to work, won't know for sure till Friday night or Saturday afternoon. It really depends on the customer and the weather in Blacksburg the rest of the week

I so want to do this but can't make it this Sunday. I hope this is not a one time deal.

Just jotted down my notes for the course....47 bulllet points so far!

What's the start/end time? I have obligations but it would be awesome to attend!

I’m in if I can borrow a rifle and possibly shotgun (have a couple but don’t know if they are suitable for this).

I have a spare rifle you can borrow. Or I'm sure you can use the same one you used at the Night Ops.

This class is a lot less about the actual 'shooting' and a lot more about the structure of a match. We WILL be shooting, but it's not a competition.

I'm planning on bringing a .22 pistol and rifle that others are welcome to use if they don't have anything. I would prefer for people to have their own ammo but I'll have some federal bulk ammo with me.

I may also bring a glock and an AR that I wouldn't mind sharing but anyone who wants to use those will definitely need to supply their own ammo. 9mm-223-556.

@Tim , if you don't get enough folks @ $25/head to cover the range fee, I'm willing to kick in a little extra to help make it happen. I bet others would pony up an extra $5 or more too...

Right y'all?

Right?
I also accept Bourbon* and Bullets.

*GOOD Bourbon....none of that bottom shelf stuff.

3 spots left....
I'm really surprised with all the interest that was showed earlier, maybe some just wanted to talk about it. 🤬

For me, I was interested in the deal when it was gonna be in April and on a Saturday. I already had plans for this Sunday, and usually stick to Saturday only when it comes to stuff like this. Ya'll have fun, and if anyone takes video's and wants to put them on the CFF youtube channel, send them to [email protected] and I'll get them up.

I am planning an actual match for a Saturday in April. Details on that soon....

I refrained from commenting because who cares if I can't come. But, since there appears to be an open question about the disparity between interest and participation I'll comment. I have a PPC match on Sunday at the same time. This class kind of popped up out of nowhere.

I’m not worried about interest v participation. Things come up, people have other plans, no worries at all.

I’m very pleased with the responses here! We’ll see how it goes!

Ok let's get some clarification out on my comment. It was solely based on Tim needed 5 confirmed people to cover the range fees. Yesterday there was still 3 open slots. Now was that on the 5 needed or 20 total not sure. But I should have made that clear so it wasn't mistaken and was not meant to degrade anyone!
