55 Miles per Gallon mandate from EPA for all passenger vehicles

This is almost like CA’s law on smart guns. Largely impractical and unexecutable, but will serve as a ban.

The automakers will lobby against this since they’re already heavily invested in vehicles for the next few years. They can’t just change on a dime like that.

I don’t see how anyone is going to make a Tahoe or 4Runner that gets 55mpg and clearly that’s where the market is since Ford killed all of their cars.
 
Good bye truck sales. Or maybe they become elitist vehicles.
The trucks are pretty much already there at this point. New non work model trucks are all 40k plus and the used market is whack.

It's good that we're pushing the manufacturers to increase fuel economy, but it would be nice if our government went a bit harder after the commercial polluters who do most of the damage. If I remember correctly cruise ships pollute more than all the cars in the US combined do

Once in international waters they do as they please. No accountability.
 
My 96 Toyota Tacoma just gained 20 grand in value 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
