Been looking around for 6.5 Grendel, but it seems to be non existent in retail stores. Is it becoming obsolete? It would be sad to loose 6.5 Grendel. Looking like 6mm Creedmoor is taking its place.

I saw a post on a forum saying Wolf was discontinuing 6.5 Grendel. That said I realize Wolf is affected by the Russian ammo ban.

You can find Wolf online using ammoseek.com . Price has increased to the point it’s not a viable plinking round. Every once in awhile I will run across some Hornaday in Academy Sports. Like the Wolf, too expensive to plink. IMHO, the 6.5 Grendel has become a reloader’s cartridge. But I do love mine!!!

Target Sports USA has some Aguila in stock.

It does seem like it’s becoming even harder to find lately. Even the stores that used to carry the expensive hornaday stuff seemed to have dried up lately. I tend to buy it up when I hit gun shows, but it’s definitely not a plinking round for sure.

I may have to check out this place.
I have made multiple purchases from them. They are good to go.

Outdoor limited can eff right off. Price gouging clowns.

I bought a bunch of that Wolf Military Classic stuff a few years ago for like $5 a box. I thought that 25 cents a round was a deal for plinking rounds, but it shoots SO bad, I still got ripped off at a quarter per round. My rifle would shoot at or under 1MOA at 100 yards with 123gn Hornady AMAX or handloads. But with the Wolf, I was lucky to get a 4-5 inch group. I also noticed that the cases split right down the side in about 1 out of every 10 rounds. I have never suffered any ill effects from it happening, but it does make you a bit leery. It is CRAP ammo.

The biggest issue with the Wolf was undersized projectiles. .262 IIRC. That being said, my Alexander Arms 16" lightweight will shoot these to 1.5 - 2" groups. The Hornady Black does ok, but it really likes the SST. My Howa OTOH, is a laser with the Black.

I haven't dealt with OL yet, but I believe ALL ammo is 3x the price nearly everywhere. When a retailer sells it at a semi fair price then people buy it and sell it at the gun show for more ,so I think we are all getting screwed by someone.

I can't say I like it....

Correct, ammo is inflated everywhere. OL, however was exceptional douches about it when this craze first kicked off. They had some of the highest pieces Ive e were seen. I consider them the same as cheaper than dirt in my book.

I didn’t buy any ammo during that period, so I missed that.

I banned them when they made it so you had to register to check prices on their site. Idiots.

Mine is just a basic Radical Arms upper, and it shoots/groups much better than the purchase price ever suggested it should. And it was consistently sub-MOA with the factory Hornady AMAX ammo and with my own handloads using 123gn Hornady bullets, magnum small rifle primers and IMR8208XBR powder. But I switched to a Bergara in 6.5 Creedmoor, and have not pulled the Grendel out or shot it in several years.

What area are you looking in?

Academy normally had Hornaday Black in stock, I started reloading for 6.5 Grendel and .458 Socom a few years ago so I haven’t kept up with retail ammo, but Academy normally had some in stock
