I can't pass any judgement on what happened. But, I keep pistol powder in another room and only bring it to the bench if I'm loading pistol rounds. Then it goes right back to its home.

Shit happens, stay safe.

Yeah, I obviously don’t know what happened, but he spent a lot of time looking for someone to blame and then getting in his own way with his “investigation.”

Powders are chemically different, I gotta think that the proper lab could identify the powder, or at least exclude it, based on what remained in the gun.

Now I gotta go look for powder recalls.

Interesting that there is no mention if that was the first shot of that batch or the 1000th shot. No mention of pulling any of the others from that batch to double check that the powder charge was correct. Could have been a 6.5mm projectile in a 6mm case. Lots of details aren't given.

Can 4350 even be double charged in a 6.5CM case? I've never used it.
No. 41.6g of H4350 fills a 6.5CM case 85 to maybe 90ish%. (Max book for H is 41.5). Accurate has roughly the same volume density as Hodgdon. It's damn near filled to the start of the shoulder case. In fact a few powders are compressed charges. On top of which he was running .7 below max charge.

My guess is a mixup in powders on his bench.
