Fight hard.
Looking for some defensive stuff and I really only have ever bought XM193. - What defensive rounds are you all stacking for your pistols/SBRs?

I nave not shot their 77 grain yet. Their 55 grain is GTG though. This isn't the Norma stuff that's gonna blow my hardware up, right? Lol
Out of curiosity, what was the price? That stuff looks to be $20/box now.
Any experience with the Federal Urban TRU 55gr SP? - I was originally going for the 77gr, but this stuff looks pretty solid for the price. Most of my home defense rounds for <14.5ā barrels include:
-Federal MSR 62 grain bonded (pretty much Speer gold dot)
-Hornady 75 grain in either Black, Steel Match, TAP
-77 grain IMI, Black Hills, Magtech CBC
-many swear by the Barnes TSX 50 gr
I donāt. The Gold Dot and Hornady 75 grain T2 bullets have been popular for a while. Plus they arenāt as dependent on the velocity of XM193Any experience with the Federal Urban TRU 55gr SP? - I was originally going for the 77gr, but this stuff looks pretty solid for the price.

I know some of us keep saying it but there is not such thing as a magic bullet. Use a reliable one that functions best in your firearm and place rounds in the proper places until the threat is ended ā¦ be it one or ten rounds. The couple hundred fps you are gonna lose from the āreportedā velocities manufacturers claim will affect how ballistic tips, soft points, etc perform but youāre still putting holes in the target and let fluids out. Do not over think it ā¦ shoot good ammo that your firearm works best with if you ever are put in a bad situation.Would you all recommend staying away from the 55gr defensive rounds out of an 11.5"?
How did this shoot for you? It went on sale again and I picked up a few hundo.Norma had their 77 gr Golden Target on sale last week and I ordered 200 to try out.
Just looked and I don't see it listed, so don't know if it is new or end of production.
Haven't gone shooting yet, but I ordered 400 more of the same againHow did this shoot for you? It went on sale again and I picked up a few hundo.
Ya I wanted more but I'll hold off and see how they shoot. The sales seem to be pretty regular. First time using any 77gr. This classy guy typically runs Wolf.Haven't gone shooting yet, but I ordered 400 more of the same again
I've got a couple rifles with 1:7 or 1:8 twist barrels, so one of them should shoot.Ya I wanted more but I'll hold off and see how they shoot. The sales seem to be pretty regular. First time using any 77gr. This classy guy typically runs Wolf.
I was having a very hard time finding SD stuff in 77gr. I figure this is at least better than running my training ammo for SD purposes; when I come across some better stuff I'll snag it.Norma 77 gr 223 chronoās from my 22ā bolt gun w YHM turbo K at 2730 ft/s. considering barrel length is so-so WRT velocity. The Norma 77gr has a short COAL compared to most 77gr loads that are closer to max 2.260. I suspect Norma dropped the powder charge to avoid over-pressure from the deep bullet seat.
if looking for defensive ammo for SBR Iād personally go with a heavy good dot or federal soft point. They ensure expansion and are absolutely devastating.

I'd actually really like to snag more Wolf .223 SP - the stuff shoots extremely well. Groups better than PMC Bronze and does surprisingly well in gel tests for the cost.
